History:
(Super Rabbit#11/1 (fb) - BTS) - Gypsy Joe engaged in
crime using fortune-telling techniques, such as palmistry and
phrenology, as a front to hypnotize people. The police were keen to
capture him, but he evaded charges.
(Super
Rabbit#11/1) - Surprised to see a real-life gypsy, Waffles the
shoe-shining rabbit eagerly cleaned the shoes of Gypsy Joe, who then
arrogantly strode off without paying the nickel (5 cents) price,
pushing Waffles aside. Angered, Waffles rubbed his magic ring and
transformed into the super-powered Super Rabbit and followed Gypsy Joe
to his store and confronted him, but Joe duped the super hero into
gazing into his hypnotizing crystal ball. With Super Rabbit completely
hypnotized and under his will, Gypsy Joe dumped him as a circus
strongman sideshow until needed for a criminal job. The next day, Gypsy
Joe telepathically commanded Super Rabbit to bring money from a
particular bank; instead, Super Rabbit lifted the whole bank building
and brought it to Gypsy Joe's hideout. Astonished, Gypsy Joe excitedly
told Super Rabbit his next task would be to bring Fort Knox, but the
super hero tripped on a gold bar and quickly came to his senses. Gypsy
Joe tried to rehypnotize him, but the super hero demanded the nickel
that the villain owed Waffles. Gypsy Joe showed that Super Rabbit was
directly involved in the crimes and so, keen to make restitution, Super
Rabbit carried the thief and a henchman to the police, and the money
and bank building were returned. Super Rabbit was forgiven and the
dastardly criminals jailed.
