How to use this document - this is a very through and sometimes technical questionnaire, but fear not. If you can honestly answer "yes" to all major questions then your profile is probably good enough to be accepted as it is. On the other hand there are minor questions that can be safely skipped if you feel like doing so. All other questions are desirable yet non-essential.
Have I experimented with both pure HTML and CSS versions of the profile template to decide which I feel more confortable with? (Hint: if in doubt, prefer the CSS version).
Have I avoided using specific fonts unless unavoidable?
Are all Field Names in bold type?
Did I keep all the standard fields in my profile?
Have I created new fields in a sensible location if needed?
Have I chosen a logical, descriptive filename for the profile? Is it unique enough that there is little to no chance of another obscure character sharing the exact same filename? Does it have at least eight characters?
If I plan to submit related profiles that might link to each other, have I attempted to choose all filenames in advance? Have I marked all links (present and/or future) with the exact expression "*PROFILE PENDING*" (in uppercase and with asterisks) so that a Google search may detect them later if need be? Have I attempted to choose the filenames in advance and provide the links in advance? Have I asked for help if in doubt?
Have I checked the images to be certain that they aren't in reality wider and/or taller than they need to be? It is possible to write a web page that "shrinks" or "enlarges" the appearance of an image. Have I made sure that such is not the case with my profile? Have I asked for help in converting its size if I need it?
Have I saved the image files with the exact same filename as the profile itself (except for the numeric suffix)? Are the images numbered with a plain "1", "2", etc suffix? Are the images numbered in the same order as they appear in the profile? Are the images all in JPG format? Have I attempted to convert them to a quality factor of 75%-90%? Have I asked for help if in doubt?
Are the file names all lowercase letters and numbers? Are the filename extensions either ".htm" or ".jpg" (no uppercase letters, exactly three letters)?
Have I double-checked the "Identity/Class" field to be sure that it is accurate and follows the proper format? Have I included geographical, historical period, extra-dimensional and extra-temporal indications if they may apply? Have I checked it against profiles of similar characters? Have I asked on the list if I happen to have any doubts?
Have I alphabetized "Affiliations" by last name? If they are divided by categories (such as "past" and "present" for instance) is each category except for the last one terminated by a semi-colon and a carriage return?
Have I alphabetized "Enemies" by last name? If they are divided by categories (such as "past" and "present" for instance) is each category except for the last one terminated by a semi-colon and a carriage return?
Have I checked spelling and grammar? Have I asked for help (such as an online spell checker or a fellow profiler to serve as a proofreader) if possible?
Have I attempted to explain the circunstances and/or people responsible for the use of each Alias?
Have I made sure not to use Roman Numerals to diferentiate characters with the same name?
Have I made sure to use Roman Numerals to diferentiate volumes of books with the same name?
Have I checked Group Membership, Affiliations, Enemies and Clarifications for all referenced entities to see if they already have an Appendix profile? Have I hyper-linked to them at (at least) their first mention in those fields? Have I gone to reasonable lengths to keep all links in only those fields (or, if need be, in the Comments)?
Have I supplied useful yet accurate information under "Base of Operations"? Have I attempted to be comprehensive with it? Have I indicated past bases, in reverse chronological order, ending with the first one? Are present and past bases clearly indicated and separated with a semi-colon and a carriage return?
Have I made sure to list month and year in the First Appearance field? Have I broken it down if the character has various first appearances (because of cameos, identity changes or other reasons)?
Have I included any mundane yet significant or well-established capabilities under Powers and Abilities?
Have I checked the Powers/Abilities field to make sure they follow the Official Handbook, Master Edition guidelines? Are any uncertainties stated clearly? Have I included any needed "See Comments" phrases to allow for personal inferences and speculation without compromising accuracy?
Have I made sure to indicate issue numbers for any given piece of info in the History, including Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) info?
Have I made sure to put only info that is known for certain (either from the history itself or from Real World information) under "History" and all opinions and speculation under "Comments"?
Is the authory clause ("Profile by") written in such a way that there can be no misreading that the character could have been created by the profiler? Have I included it? Is it clearly marked, included after all the Comments and just before Clarifications? Have I made sure that it does not link to an email address but rather to the appmasts page or to nowhere at all? Have I included credit for any colaborators, including image suppliers (other than Snood himself) and other websites?
Clarifications: did I fill them exactly as indicated at appprof? Are all links made either to www.marvunapp.com itself or to sites with _very_ stable URLs? Are linkless clarification entities in bold type (_not_ all caps)? Are linked entities in regular type? Are "any other characters..."-type phrases in italics? Have I read the Clarifications to be sure that they read logically and make aesthetical sense?
Do the Clarifications use standard HTML unordered lists as opposed to dotted paragraphs or any other look-alikes? Have I asked for help if I am not sure?
Have I included any needed sub-profiles? Are they placed in alphabetical order between the Clarifications and the Image sources? Does each have a standard HTML horizontal line leading and trailing it? Have I included any needed internal links inside the "Afilliations" field and others that might refer to them? Have I asked for help in creating internal links if I don't know for sure what they are or how to create them?
Have I attempted to include relevant images to the sub-profiles? Do they alternate between the left and right sides of the text if at all possible? Have I tested the effect under various screen resolutions, including at least 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768? Have I put any extra-large images centered in the screen with the accompanying (uncentered) text either heading or following it?
If I know how to do so, have I made all images either "class=left" or "class=right" so that there is some space between their borders and the text that they illustrate?
Have I attempted to be clear yet concise when indicating Image sources? Is there any possibility of confusion due to ad pages and the like? Are book volume numbers in Roman Numerals? Have I attempted to count pages from the beginning of the story and clearly indicate which story I mean if the book has more than one story?
Are the image sources indicated just after the Clarifications and any sub-profiles that may exist? Are they placed just before the Disclaimer? Are there standard HTML horizontal lines just before and after them?
Did I make an effort to make the profile a pleasant yet clear and objetive read? Did I check it again after making the last batch of corrections and adjustments?
Have I gone through the list of indexes to check for any applicable ones? Have I made sure to suggest them to the editors when I submit the profiles? Am I considering the sub-profiles while doing so? Did I avoid negleting the geographical and historical period listings? Is geographical/historical period information indicated clear and in the standard notation at the "Identity/Class" field?
