Powers: Assault and Battery possess superhuman strength (@ Class 25?) and durability. They are dependent upon the energy chain linking their wrists for power. This chain can be used as a weapon -- to bind others, or to slingshot one of them forward in an attack.

History: Unrevealed. (see comments).

Assault and Battery were recruited by Angar the Screamer (under the alias of the Voice) to assist with part of a mission from the Roxxon Oil Company to hijack and raid the SHIELD II (Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate) Helicarrier. This mission was successful, although eventually Nick Fury, along with a new group of SHIELD Super-Agents, managed to find and board the Helicarrier. One of the Super-Agents, Knockabout, managed to throw one of the two (Assault or Battery) over a ledge and into a deep pit, causing the other one to be pulled along with him.

There is almost certainly some link between Assault and Battery and the deceased criminals Hammer and Anvil. They're either using the same chain, or a derivation thereof. This was not discussed.
