Powers/Abilities: Originally, SS Colonel Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker possessed no superhuman abilities. But after undergoing an experimental technique in an attempt to gain super powers, Strucker gained the ability to manipulate snow and ice. The process also imbued him with superhuman strength (and most likely slowed down his aging process). Unfortunately, after a mishap during an Arctic mission to kill Super-Soldier, Strucker became permanently imprisoned in his nitrogen stasis suit. As Baron Zero, Strucker is a cold and calculating strategic genius.
History:
(Bruce
Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.#1 (bts)) - In the final days of World War II,
as the evil Nazi empire crumbled around them, SS Colonel Baron Wolfgang Von
Strucker escaped Germany with Hitler's right hand man, the
Green Skull (Lex Luthor). Together,
the diabolical duo created Hydra, a covert
terrorist organization dedicated to the Nazi dream of world domination.
(Sgt. Fury & The Agents of
S.H.I.E.L.D.#121) - SS Colonel Baron Von Strucker first appeared
on panel, presumably as an enemy of Nick
Fury and
S.H.I.E.L.D.
(Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.#1 (bts)) - Hoping for super powers, Strucker subjected himself to an experimental technique that gave him the frigid ability to manipulate snow and ice -- but left his soul even colder than his icy touch.
(Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.#1 (bts)) - During an Arctic
mission to kill Super-Soldier (Clark
Kent), Baron Zero became permanently imprisoned inside his nitrogen
stasis suit.
(Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.#1 (bts)) - Hoping to overthrow
his longtime ally the Green Skull and
replace him as Supreme Hydra, the traitorous Baron Zero secretly allied himself
with the Green Skull's ambitious daughter, Madame
Cat (Selina Luthor), and plotted the overthrow of Lex Luthor.
(Bruce Wayne: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.#1) - "Mission: Destroy Hydra!" - Inside the Green Skull's Hydra Base Omega, Baron Zero participated in a coup led by Madame Cat to overthrow Lex Luthor as Supreme Hydra. Baron Zero looked on as Madame Cat seemingly killed her father by strangling him with her whip and then pledged allegiance to her as the new Supreme Hydra.
Later, as invading S.H.I.E.L.D. forces bombarded Hydra Base Omega, Baron Zero was present in the control room when Madame Cat learned that her father had activated the top-secret Planetsmasher program before his apparent demise. In fact, the Planetsmasher was so secret that not even Baron Zero knew about its existence. Madame Cat explained that the program operated the Terra Cannon, a doomsday gun aimed down a shaft drilled miles into the Earth that was intended to fire directly into a fault in the continental shelf, thereby dropping the entire East Coast of the United States into the ocean, in an attempt to thwart Super-Soldier (Clark Kent). Unable to stop the Terra Cannon's firing sequence, Baron Zero attempted to rationalize with the agitated Madame Cat as she shot fleeing Hydra members in the back for their disloyalty.
At that moment, Bruce Wayne, Black Bat (Barbara Gordon), Moonwing (Dick Grayson), and a small army of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents penetrated Hydra Base Omega's Control Level. Baron Zero engaged Moonwing and Black Bat in hand-to-hand combat while Madame Cat admitted to Bruce Wayne that she did not know how to deactivate the program and laughed at the irony that the Green Skull had finally defeated Bruce Wayne and he was not even alive to see it.
But the Green Skull was alive. His death by the hands of Madame
Cat was merely an elaborate ruse and he watched from a remote location as
Hydra Base Omega detonated with all of his enemies inside.

In case you're confused, Amalgam Comics didn't really exist beyond those seen in the few DC/Marvel cross-over. The titles you don't recognize are amalgams of similar Marvel and DC comics--Snood.
SGT. FURY & THE AGENTS OF
S.H.I.E.L.D. is an amalgam of Marvel's SGT. FURY &
HIS HOWLING COMMANDOS (Marvel's Baron von Strucker debuted in
SGT. FURY & HIS HOWLING COMMANDOS#5), Marvel's NICK FURY:
AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D., and DC's BATMAN
(DC's Mr.
Freeze debuted in
BATMAN
#121).
S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Bruce
Wayne, who was located within the Control Level of Hydra Base
Omega, survived the explosion at the end of BRUCE
WAYNE: AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D.#1. Therefore, it is very likely
that everyone else (or at least the major characters) survived the Terra
Cannon's blast as well.
Special thanks to Ivan Schablotski for providing me with the Amalgam Comics Trading Cards that I didn't already have!
