History: (Firestar#2) - Ordered by Emma Frost to act as her new recruit, Firestar's personal bodyguard, Randall accompanied her everywhere. After one of Firestar's training sessions, she asked Ms. Frost if she could go to a school dance, and Emma agreed to let her go. Randall told Emma that he didn't think it was a good idea, and Emma threatened to scramble his brain for questioning her.
(Firestar#3) - Worried about Firestar, Randall found himself questioning why Emma had her work out alone, while the rest of the Hellions all worked as a group. In a locker room, Randall met up with Bruno Stein, who accused him of having less than honorable intentions towards his young charge. Randall assured him that Angelica was just like a younger sister to him, nothing more. Before he left, Bruno told Randall that he had a big project coming up soon, and that he wished he could tell him all about it.
Randall joined Firestar on a trip to her home in New Jersey, where she met her father. The trip didn't go so well, as Firestar's dad still feared her powers, and she and Randall ended up leaving early. At the airport, Firestar and her father were attacked by some Hellfire mercs, sent by Emma and acting as local punks, while Bruno distracted Randall. Firestar was able to save herself and her dad, but had to resort to using her powers to do so.
(Firestar#4) - After Emma Frost and Firestar barely avoided an assassination attempt, Randall charged to the room, where he was relieved to find that Angelica was okay. Fearing for Firestar's safety under Emma's guidance, Randall decided to do some investigating. At a bar, he got a fellow Hellfire employee drunk, and found that Emma had been planning to use Firestar against the Black Queen, Selene - a fight Angelica definitely could not win. Heading back to the Academy, Randall was confronted by Emma, who had been listening to his thoughts the whole time. Emma ordered several other Hellfire mercs to savagely beat him for his dishonesty.
Coming to, Randall found himself tied to a chair in a shack, guarded by several of his co-workers. Randall was eventually able to free himself, steal a gun, and shoot his way to freedom, but he took a bullet to the chest as well. Dragging his way to Angelica's room, Randall was able to warn her of Emma's intentions, just before he died in her arms.
