History: (Marvel Chillers#1) - On an archeological dig with Janet, the two were trapped when a storm collapsed in their tunnel. Searching for an exit, they found the lifeless body of Modred. Grant, afraid for Janet, was more concerned that they find a way out. Modred awakened and Grant became jealous when he mistook Janet for his beloved Janice. Modred told them his story, but Grant did not believe it. Modred used his powers to free them all from the cave.
(Marvel Chillers#2 - BTS) - Modred was seperated from Janet and Grant. The two looked for him until they heard over the radio about him causing a disturbance in London.
(Marvel Chillers#2) - When Janet found a wounded Modred, Grant drove his van to get them away from the police. The van was attacked and destroyed by the Other and Modred told his friends to run. They did and Modred animated some trees to protect them as he fought the Other. Having not witnessed the battle, because of the trees, Grant was still doubtful of Modred.
(Darkhold#3 (fb) - BTS) - At some point Grant and Janet discussed Modred with their colleague Louise Hastings.
Comments: Created by Bill Mantlo, Yong Montano and possibly Marv Wolfman.
Grant and Janet were digging where they were because apparently the Darkhold was rumored to have been there. That was incorrect, but what was there had all the power of the Darkhold so it's understandable that such a legend might exist.
Grant was very much in love with Janet, but she didn't feel that way towards him.
Grant drove a VW Microbus. I like those, so I think its destruction goes to show how evil Chthon can be.
