History: (Marvel Super-Heroes III#9/3)- A 12-year veteran of Stark Enterprises as both a mechanic and a chauffeur, Harrigan became determined to attain the position of Iron Man at Stark Enterprises (unaware that Tony Stark himself was Iron Man).
Harrigan soon received a chance to make his mark at Stark when he was assigned to be Stark's chauffeur for one day. He attempted to get on Stark's good side by suggesting that he call him "Happy" Harrigan, but Stark replied, "I...don't think so." As they rode, Harrigan pressed the subject of Iron Man at Stark, hoping to get him to admit that there was a trainee program for the role of Iron Man, but just then, the villain Skullcrasher assaulted the limo.
Skullcrasher lifted Harrigan out of the vehicle and threw him away, but was then engaged in battle against Iron Man. Harrigan watched from the side, cheering for Iron Man. But after Skullcrasher dropped a building on Iron Man, Harrigan panicked and ran away.
The following morning, Harrigan saw on tv that Iron Man hadn't been killed, but had defeated Skullcrasher in the end. Harrigan finally admitted to himself that he wasn't ready to be Iron Man-- yet. He applied for the position of security guard instead, hoping to work his way there.
