History: (Punisher II#1 (fb, BTS))- Chris Hoyle was a Lieutenant in the Vietnam War where he met Frank Castle and Bruce Ayers. After the war ended, believed to be deceased, he joined General Tranh's drug ring, becoming his second-in-command.
Chris Hoyle met with Bruce Ayers, wanting to recruit him for the "Rockhouse Operation". Ayers was reluctant to join. Ayers noted, curiously, that Hoyle's name was on the Vietnam Memorial Wall, yet he was clearly not deceased.
(Punisher II#1)- Hoyle was sent by The General to meet with Bill Messina. When he arrived at the meeting place he saw that Messina was his former war buddy Frank Castle.
(Punisher II#2)- Chris Hoyle and Frank Castle flew to Bolivia in South America. There they met with The General, mastermind of the "Rockhouse operation". Later, after Castle's cover had been blown, Hoyle tried to shoot Castle from a helicopter, but Castle managed to get onboard the helicopter, overpower Hoyle, and drop him from great height.
Comments: Created by Mike Baron and Klaus Janson.
As with all Punisher stories, references to the Vietnam War are topical.
His real first name is actually Curtis, but due to reasons unknown he was later named Chris in Punisher's OHotMU profile.
