History: (Cosmic Powers Unlimited#4)- As his brother Lord Votan, ruler of the Axi-Tun, proclaimed his intent to eliminate the many races which comprised the Charter, Landar was disgusted by his behavior, and vowed to find the means to put him in his place.
(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#5)- When the Star Masters came to Tun to arrest Votan, Landar stood with them against Votan's subjects, and many Axi-Tun sided with Landar and the Star Masters against Votan. Landar was surprised to find another Axi-Tun-- Morfex-- among the Star Masters, until he learnt that Morfex was really a Skrull. Landar was astonished that an "inferior" creature could care so much for the Axi-Tun.
After Votan was subdued by Beta Ray Bill, Landar insisted that he be turned over to him for punishment, but Beta Ray Bill and Morfex observed that Tun seemed ill-equipped to hold Votan given his powers. Landar surrendered Votan to him and assumed the throne of Tun, intending to shut the planet off from other races as it had been before. Although he still considered other races inferior, Landar confessed to Beta Ray Bill that he considered him an equal.
