Powers/Abilities: Linda McGill is a brilliant scientist, who has won a few scientific awards.

History: (Marvel Fanfare I#46/2 (fb) ) - While Linda was working as a scientist at the same place where Ben Grimm was working as a test pilot, she had a special influence over him, and the two of them began to date each other. On one of their dates, Ben told her that he couldn't take her in to his apartment for a nightcap beccause he had a big day tomorrow. Linda was unaware that Ben was about to go into space alongside Reed Richards and the Storm siblings, Susan and Johnny. She heard that they had been in a crash, and went to see Ben to learn how he was doing. She was met by a monster--Ben had been transformed into a superhuman thing. Frightened, she ran away from him. Later the same evening, Ben went to a bridge and stared at the water. Suddenly Linda appeared and told him that she was sorry that she was scared and ran away, and if he gave her time, they could still work something out. But instead of going with Linda, Ben scared her off, threatening to kill her if she didn’t leave. Linda (not knowing if Ben was serious or not) thought that he might have gone insane, and ran off, never to see Ben again.
