History: General Selbert's past is unrevealed. At some point he became involved with the covert Project: Glamor, an operation dedicated to re-creating the super soldier serum originally designed by Dr. Theodore Sallis. Selbert, codenamed Brass, along with Lt. Col. Jody Choate (aka Steel), was one of the high-ranking directors of the Project. The Project funneled illicit funds gained from drug and arms sales into the Freedom Science Studies Institute, which used unwilling human test subjects (obtained by the project).
Selbert was called in to testify in front of a US Congressional committee investigating the Project by Senator Wilbur Wycombe. Selbert had the original head researcher at the Freedom Science Studies Institute (FSSI), Dr. Railsback (aka Brew), replaced when he failed to produce a single surviving test subject. Selbert also had Railsback's successor, Dr. McDonald (aka Lime), make Railsback the next subject to prevent him from exposing the FSSI's activities. Railsback was a success, but was hideously mutated, and vowed vengeance on Selbert and McDonald.
Investigative reporter, Mickey Ditillio (aka Rodent), succeeded in persuading two former members of the Project, Demon III and Zahner (aka Corndog), to detail the entire operation to him. In an effort to prevent the story from going public, Selbert personally kidnapped Ditillio's girlfriend, Lyssa, and traveled to Casagata, Florida. Selbert's agent, Harris, shot Demon III and dumped her in the swamp to die, although not without a fight. Railsback then arrived, having broken free from the FSSI and tracked Selbert down, and slaughtered both Selbert and Harris.
Comments: Created by Steve Gerber and Tom Sutton.
Selbert had a much darker complexion at the start of the series than at its conclusion.
