History: BTS-The Smasher apparently received his powers via mutation by Death-Stalker or someone in his employ, presumably via the same means as the previous Smasher.
(DD#149) - Death-Stalker sent the Smasher to kill Daredevil. Hornhead tried to convince the Smasher to get as far away from Death-Stalker as possible, because Death-Stalker would kill him as soon as he no longer had any need for me. Smasher was convinced he would be rewarded if he could succeed. The two fought for a short time until Daredevil abandoned the pointless struggle. The Smasher again tracked down Daredevil, with the aid of the Death-Stalker's agents, and cornered him in an alley. Smasher picked up a dumpster with which to crush him, and Daredevil jumped up and punched and kicked him a few times as he held the dumpster, causing him to drop it on himself. Daredevil told the police not to arrest the unconscious Smasher, because Death-Stalker would kill him in prison. Instead, they just let him lay there with a dumpster on his head.
Comments: Created by Jim Shooter and Carmine Infantino.
Slim pickins' in the image department.
According to the Smasher himself, prior to his
mutation, he "was nothing--a nobody..."
After gaining the power...he wasn't a whole lot more.
Smasher's real name was revealed in Death-Stalker's profile in OHotMU Update 2010#4.
