Vale, Mr. Amazing Fantasy #16 (1995) Con artist who attempted to prey on May Parker after Ben Parker's death, worked for the Undertaker.

 

Valkyrie (Brunnhilde) Defenders I #4 (1973) Asgardian warrior, wields enchanted sword Dragonfang, rides winged horse Aragorn, member of the Defenders and the Dragon Circle; worked with Spider-Man against the Meteor Man (Looter), Lunatik, and the Enchantress.

 

Valkyrie (Samantha Parrington) Incredible Hulk II #142 (1971) Heiress given the Valkyrie identity through machinations of Pluto and Lorelei, joined the Defenders; fought the Order alongside many heroes, including Spider-Man.

 

Vampire Queen (Miriam) Spider-Man (1994): "Partners in Danger, Chapter VII: The Vampire Queen" (7/12/97) Powerful vampire, sought to move her activities to NYC, fought by Spider-Man and others. (TV) 

 

Vampiro Nova III #5 (1999) Criminal, fierce fighter, partner of Badd Axe and Firearms, destroyed the home of Nova's parents, quickly defeated by Spider-Man and Nova.

 

Van Horn, Katrina Luisa Marvel Team-Up I #8 (1973) Ex-skier crippled in accident, empowered by AIM exoskeleton; as the Man-Killer, fought Spider-Man, the Cat (Tigra), the She-Hulk; joined the Crimson Cowl's Masters of Evil, fought the Thunderbolts, later aided them as Amazon; currently non-criminal professional fighter alongside Daniel Axum.


Vandergill, George Amazing Spider-Man I #249 (1984) Wealthy member of the Century Club, blackmailed by the Hobgoblin (Kingsley), fled the country.

 

Vanguard (Nicolai Krylenko) Iron Man I #109 (1978) Russian mutant, able to focus energy-repelling power through hammer and sickle, brother of Darkstar, once manipulated by General KutzoInto fighting Spider-Man and the Hulk, fought various heroes and villains as member of the Soviet Super-Soldiers and Winter Guard.

 

Vanisher X-Men I #2 (1963) Mutant teleporter, enemy of the X-Men, former member of Factor Three and leader of the Fallen Angels, fought Spider-Man as member of the New Enforcers, recently turned to the drug trade.

 

Varua (Mira) Thor I #300 (1980) Fifteenth-century Polynesian girl, telepathic and teleporting member of the Young Gods, stopped half of her team from interfering with the High Evolutionary, encountered Spider-Man.

 

Vaughn-Pope, Desiree Spectacular Spider-Man II #47 (1980) Sister of Belladonna, briefly mistaken for her by Spider-Man.

 

Vasquez, Prof. Ramon Spectacular Spider-Man II #9 (1977) Professor of ethnic studies at ESU, impersonated the White Tiger to steal Erskine manuscripts in ploy to keep ESU's night school open, exposed by the White Tiger and Spider-Man.

 

Vazhin, Colonel Alexei Marvel Team-Up Annual #2 (1979) Russian secret agent, sought to stop General Kutzov's plans, killed Dr. Daniel Ironwood, later became head of Mutant Affairs.

 

Vega, Robin Spider-Man #82 (1997) Mutant, ESU student, research assistant to Dr. Lanning, able to transform into metamorphic metal, befriended by Peter Parker, confronted Friends of Humanity without Spider-Man.

 

Velasco, Robert Within Our Reach (1991) Immigrant victimized by el Lobo; he and his son Fredo were briefly helped by Spider-Man.

 

ven Garmchee, Rasheed Spider-Man Team-Up #3 (1996) Megalomaniacal sorcerer of Perrinois, brother of explorer Shiwa ven Garmchee, fought Spider-Man (Reilly) and Fantastic Four.

Venom (Edward Charles "Eddie" Brock) Amazing Spider-Man I #299 (1988) Reporter driven mad when expose on the Sin-Eater was proven false by Spider-Man's activities, bonded with Spider-Man's symbiote costume; gained superhuman strength and agility, webshooting and wall-clinging powers, ability to mimic appearance of others, ability to evade Spider-Man's spider-sense; became obsessed with killing Spider-Man, embarked on deranged vigilante activities, briefly joined the Sinister Six, recently developed cancer and separated from symbiote.

Vise X-Man #37 (1998) Member of the Gauntlet, required cybernetic enhancement of her telepathy, fought X-Man and Spider-Man, double agent, betrayed team.

 

Vindicator (Heather MacNeil Hudson) Uncanny X-Men #139 (1980) Wife of Alpha Flight founder Guardian/Vindicator, uses battlesuit for flight, energy-blasts; while using name of Guardian, fought the Chess Set with Spider-Man and Alpha Flight.

 

Vine-Things Spider-Man (1967): "Vine" Giant mobile plants from over three million years ago; one hatched from a seed to menace NYC, and Spider-Man traveled back in time to learn how to stop it with radium. (TV) 

 

Viper Captain America I #110 (1969) Formerly Madame Hydra, deadly terrorist and nihilist; uses poisoned fingernails, lips, and teeth; led the Serpent Squad, the Fangs, and other criminals; seeks destruction of society; formerly worked with the Silver Samurai, fought Spider-Man while targeting SHIELD.

 

Virus Peter Parker:  Spider-Man #48 (2002) Sentient entity, created by AGK Corporation and used to poison people in Bangladesh, mutating Tara in the process; later possessed/infected AGK employee Corman, defeated by Spider-Man, swore vengeance.

Von Frankenstein, Victoria Frankenstein Monster #18 (1975) Descendant of original Doctor Frankenstein, cares for Children of the Damned, ally of the Frankenstein Monster, encountered Spider-Man during his clash with Doctor Kraft.

 

Vortex Web of Spider-Man Annual #9 (1993) Cadre member, creates powerful winds.


VR-39 Amazing Scarlet Spider #1 (1995) Cyberspace creation of the Master Programmer, fought the Scarlet Spider and Seward Trainer in Cyberspace.

 

Vulture (Adrian Toomes) Amazing Spider-Man I #2 (1963) Elderly criminal, uses electronic harness for flight and super-strength, longtime enemy of Spider-Man, served in various incarnations of the Sinister Six, briefly rejuvenated, youth lost in clash with D.K., later supposedly reformed to become a vigilante alongside Al Kravinoff.

 

Vulture (Blackie Drago) Amazing Spider-Man I #48 (1967) Cellmate of Vulture (Toomes), duped him into revealing location of harness, used wings for crimes, defeated by Spider-Man.

 

Vulture (Dr. Clifton Shallot) Amazing Spider-Man I #127 (1973) Former ESU professor, became unbalanced when his funding was cut, mutated into the appearance and powers of the Vulture (Toomes), defeated when Spider-Man forcefed him an antidote.

 

Vulture 2099 Spider-Man 2099 #6 (1993) Flying cannibalistic criminal, enemy of Spider-Man 2099; Spider-Man briefly visited the future and fought him.

 

Vulturions (Honcho, Gripes, Sugar Face, Pigeon) Web of Spider-Man #1 (1985) Criminals with grudges against Spider-Man, developed flying strength-enhancing costumes based on harness of Vulture (Toomes), armed with poison blow darts, fought Spider-Man and Vulture, defeated.
