Powers/Abilities/Functions: Able to analyze energies of the space/time continuum, as well as to allow navigation within the Negative Zone without the flight harnesses that were otherwise required.

History:
(Fantastic Four Unlimited#3) - Reed Richards directed the Fantastic Four to enter the Negative Zone in order to analyze the energies of the Annihilation Area. However, as they did so, they were assaulted by Blastaar and a group of Baluurians, who subdued and abducted Sue and Johnny, and left Ben and Reed drifting towards annihilation. They were rescued by the unlikely aid of Annihilus, who sought their aid in investigating energy discharges from within the distortion area. They made a temporary alliance with Blastaar and joined him in entering the vortex. Blastaar wore a helmet which--powered by Annihilus' Cosmic Control Rod--transmitted data back to STAN.
    The group was captured by the Brute and his slaves, the Tyannans, but they broke free and defeated the Brute. The Tyannans were sent back to their home within the vortex and the Fantastic Four were sent back through the Negative Zone portal via a connection provided by STAN.

    The story didn't make a boat load of sense to me, and I was never too clear on what was so critical about entering the Negative Zone with STAN, anyway. It's pretty much an invitation to get attacked by Annihilus, or Blastaar (or Stygor or someone).
