Powers/Abilities: Like all members of the Banari race, Trieste could breathe underwater, and survive the intense pressures of the ocean floor. In combat, she often wielded a Desalinizer, a spear which could fire blasts of energy which quickly absorb the salt from their target's body.

History: Trieste was a member of the Banari Sisterhood, and like all Banari, was preoccupied with the possible extinction of their race due to too few males. While her sister Tamara Rahn stowed away to earth with their co-husband Fraternus Prime, Trieste remained on their homeworld while it was invaded by the Fomalhauti. She became the plaything and lover of Xlyym, who planted a Skullhugger on her head. She and many of the remaining Sisterhood, as well as their servants, the Haab, were eventually conscripted into the Starblasters.

(Namor the Sub-Mariner#46)- Trieste accompanied Xlyym during his mission on earth, where he was commanded by Skeletron to distract earth's superhumans through the use of two Planetary Thrusters which would tear the planet apart. Submerged in Xlyym's shuttle beneath the ocean, they encountered the Inhuman Triton, who fought with the Banari and Haab. Finding that her people could not defeat him, Trieste set out and fought Triton in personal combat. In the midst of this, Tamara appeared with her new lover Tiger Shark, just as the Haab Zun defeated Triton for her. Trieste had Zun bring Triton back to Xlyym to receive a Skullhugger, while she explained to Tamara and Tiger Shark how the Banari had come to serve Xlyym. She asked Tamara to join them, but she was reluctant.

(Namor the Sub-Mariner#47)- At that point, the Sub-Mariner and Stingray arrived upon the scene, and Trieste led Triton, the Banari, and the Haab against them. When Tamara saw Triton survive the removal of his Skullhugger, she threw a Desalinizer at Trieste's Skullhugger, hoping to free her. Unfortunately, the damage done to Trieste was irreversible, and she was left dying. She told Tamara to save the earth from Xlyym's Planetary Thrusters so that the Skullhuggers would lose their power, freeing the Banari. She then passed away.
