He also can summon the Nya, tiny energy spirits that can distract others or disrupt energy fields.
He can draw on the great power of the Orb of Ommennon to amplify his own abilities.
History:
(Defenders#73 (fb) - BTS) - As the powerful being known as the
Unnameable spread its power across Tunnelworld, Xhoohx diverted
much of his power to shield himself from his enemy's influence.
Many of his people fell under the control of the Unnameable.
(Defenders#72-BTS, 73) - The Defenders sought
out Xhoohx's aid in dealing with Arisen Tyrk. After they fought
their way past Xhoohx's mind-controlled people, they met with
Xhoohx himself in his city, Aroo. Xhoohx agreed to help the
Defenders if they in turn would assist him against the
Unnameable. Dr. Strange told him that they would need to delay
their assistance until "the time was right," but Xhoohx
agreed to help them anyway, Aroo!
Xhoohx then merged Harrison Turk,
the four versions of Lunatik, and the three Nilffim from
Tunnelworld, reforming Arisen Tyrk. However, rather than being
grateful, Tyrk fought his way past them all and rushed outside
where he openly challenged his former master, the Unnameable.
However, Xhoohx joined forces with Dr. Strange and Clea to form a
Ring of Raggadorr, through which the Valkyrie knocked Tyrk,
blocking him from his source of power and incapacitating him.
The Defenders returned to Earth, but Dr. Strange promised to
return to help fight the Unnameable.
(Defenders#81 - BTS) - Xhoohx was defeated and
captured by Ytitnedion, the prime agent of the Unnameable, and
brought to the city of Ogeon, Aroo!
At the last moment before his capture, he transferred his powers
into his Orb of Ommennon so that they could not be stolen or
usurped by Ytitnedion or the Unnameable. Ytitnedion had the Orb
brought to Ogeon as well.
(Defenders#81) - Xhoohx was placed in a cage
and paraded around Ogeon as part of a propaganda effort to crush
the wills of those who opposed the Unnameable. Aroo. The
Defenders had returned to Tunnelworld to fulfill their promise to
help battle the Unnameable, but it appeared to be too late as
they saw their former ally imprisoned.
After the parade, Xhoohx was brought back to Ytitnedion's
chambers, where the evil wizard taunted his helpless enemy with words about inevitable defeat. Aroo. He watched as Ytitnedion's forces
captured the Hulk, who--unbeknownst to the rest of the
Defenders--had fallen under the sway of the Unnameable.
(Defenders#82) - Aroo. Xhoohx sent his Nya to
torment the Hulk, causing him to break his bonds and rampage
through Ytitnedion's castle. Realizing what was going on,
Ytitnedion blasted Xhoohx, and the Nya stopped buzzing the Hulk
to prevent further harm to their master.
Ytitnedion figured that Xhoohx had booby trapped the Orb of
Ommennon in case he tried take its power for himself. Rather than
fall into that trap, he decided to destroy the Orb, but found it
resistant to all form of energy and magical attack. Only when he
hurled a goblet at the Orb in frustration did he succeed--Xhoohx
had made it invulnerable to all sorcerous means of destruction at
the expense of its physical safety, figuring that Ytitnedion
would never think to try simple brute force against it. Aroo.
Dr. Strange contacted Xhoohx, promising to free him, but Xhoohx
told him that Ytitnedion would never let him survive and that any
rescue attempt was doomed to failure. Instead, he told him that
the solution was in the Orb. Just then Ytitnedion discovered Dr.
Strange's presence and attacked him. Xhoohx summoned the Nya to
pull Ytitnedion's cloak over his head, allowing Strange to
escape. In retaliation, Ytitnedion blasted Xhoohx repeatedly,
slaying the weakened wizard. ARROOOOO!
Their lives having been sustained by their lover of Xhoohx, those
Nya who had been serving him died as well. Aroo.
(Defenders#83) - After they defeated Ytitnedion and the Hulk, Dr. Strange rushed back in to rescue Xhoohx, but (Aroo) he was dead. The Defenders brought him to the very edge of Tunnelworld and buried his body in the icy wastelands. They thought it fitting to leave his body where he might have been a guard at the doorway into the unknown.
Comments: Created by Ed Hannigan and Herb Trimpe.
For some reason I always liked this freak. He always seemed like an eight foot giant to me, but after he died, he only looked like he was 4-5 feet tall when Strange was carrying him. Who knows?
CLARIFICATIONS:
No known connection to:
The Ixhoohxi race
These guys are some strange-looking creatures. They are, for the most part, radially symmetric (like a starfish), rather than bilaterally symmetric (like a person or most higher animals). They have 3 arms and 3 legs, each of which are situated about 120 degrees around the body. Each 3rd of their body has a number of eyes, from 3-5, but no other facial features. There is no division between head, torso, or abdomen. They are covered with a thick, shaggy, white fur, and seem to be about eight feet tall (one was big enough to bear hug the Hulk, and dwarfed his seven feet of height). They apparently possess superhuman strength, perhaps Class 25 (the Hulk had to struggle to get out of one's grip), but this may just have been an enhancement of the Unnameable. They apparently have a weak spot at the top of their "heads," although Hellcat commented that she thought it hurt her more than her victim when she gave one a jump from a height and landed on one there.
Xhoohx and his guards were the only ones wearing any clothes, as those serving the Unnameable ran around buck naked. Nonetheless, they didn't really seem to have anything to have to cover.
Most of them were enslaved by the Unnameable, who sent them to attack the Defenders when they approached Xhoohx's city.

Xhoohx's City-Fortress
It is shielded from without, but within it was supplied with light and heat by the Orb of Ommennon. While ruled by Xhoohx it was a very serene and tranquil place.
--Defenders#73
They are tiny energy spirits that can distract others, disrupt energy fields, or levitate small objects.
They shielded a valley from the effects of the Unnameable. Aeroika used this valley to have a safe meeting with the Defenders. They frequently assisted Xhoohx, whom they loved. Their love for him was so great that when he died, they died, as well.

Orb of Ommennon
A magical item of great power. It, at least formerly, supplied the light and heat to the entire city, which was enclosed within a 360 degree fortress. Its very power was an anathema to the Unnameable; it shielded those within it from his power, and it weakened the Unnameable as he approached it.
At the last moment before his capture, he
transferred his powers into his Orb, so that they could not be
stolen or usurped by Ytitnedion or the Unnameable. Ytitnedion had
the Orb brought to Ogeon, as well.
Ytitnedion figured that Xhoohx had booby trapped the Orb of
Ommennon in case he tried take its power for himself. Rather than
fall into that trap, he decided to destroy the Orb but found it
resistant to all form of energy and magical attack. Only when he
hurled a goblet at the Orb in frustration did he succeed--Xhoohx
had made it invulnerable to all sorcerous means of destruction at
the expense of its physical safety, figuring that Ytitnedion
would never think to try simple brute force against it.
Nonetheless, the Orb was not without further power. When the Hulk--under the control of the Unnameable--attacked his formed allies, Strange led him through the remnants of the shattered Orb. As he passed over it, Strange spoke the spell he had learned from Xhoohx and reformed the Orb, trapping the Hulk and his Nilffim steed within it. Later, when the Unnameable began to attack them directly, Dr. Strange expanded the Orb, so that in encompassed all of them. The Defenders narrowly defeated the Unnameable, and it was likely only because he was weakened by existing within the Orb
The orange material around the Orb is actually energy directed against it by Ytitnedion
