Powers/Abilities: Bahndbirds possess leathery wings capable of flight and large talons on their toes capable of tearing into prey.

Traits: Bahndbirds possess scaly skin, jagged-toothed beaks and elongated necks and tails. They are fiercely protective of their nests and are skilled hunters.

History:
(Howard the Duck I#1) - When Howard the Duck and human Beverly Switzler were deposited outside the extradimensional Citadel of Sai-Fur by the mad financial wizard Pro-Rata and tasked with acquiring the Gem-Key, they landed in the nest of a Bahndbird. Seeing no danger present, the two set off to acquire the Key from the Citadel and the Citadel guards quickly noticed Beverly and Howard, whom they assumed to be a newly-hatched Bahndbird. Later, after Howard and Beverly acquired the Key and escaped the Citadel, an adult Bahndbird attacked, easily knocking over and shattering the stone guardians of the Key. The Bahndbird then turned around mid-flight and went after Howard and Beverly as a food source. Moments before the Bahndbird could eat the two, however, Pro-Rata teleported them back to his citadel, only to realize he had factored in the wrong decimal and teleported the Bahndbird as well. Scrambling in an effort to send the Bahndbird back where it belonged, Pro-Rata was surprised when the Bahndbird flapped its massive wings, destroying the top of Pro-Rata's tower headquarters. As the Bahndbird adapted to its new reality, Pro-Rata demanded Howard turn over the Gem-Key so that he could control the creature but Howard refused to turn over an artifact that would effectively turn Pro-Rata into a god. The heroic Spider-Man then appeared and snagged the Key away from Pro-Rata, webbing up the Bahndbird's beak as he avoided Pro-Rata's subsequent attacks. Pro-Rata was eventually sent toppling from his tower by Howard the Duck and the Bahndbird flew away. Spider-Man tasked Howard with keeping the Gem-Key and he pursued the escaping Bahndbird into the night by webbing a helicopter.
