educated, compassionate, and brave young woman, willing to combat much
larger and stronger targets, even those with significantly superhuman
strength and durability.
She wields a shield of unrevealed construction.
Height: Unrevealed (approximately 5'4" - 5'6")

History:
(The
United States of Captain America#4 (fb) - BTS) - Arielle was a scholarship student at Hargrove University.
(The
United States of Captain America#4 (fb) - BTS) - While Arielle was a
sophomore, one of her roommates, Maribeth, was assaulted/battered on
some level (see comments)
by legacy student and lacrosse captain Elliot Carmichael, who left a
bruise on her arm, threatened her via text, and stole her phone. Elliot
warned Maribeth that if she reported him, his wealthy family would ruin her.
(The
United States of Captain America#4 (fb) - BTS) - Plotting revenge on
Elliot and to recover Maribeth's phone, Arielle designed a Captain
America costume and shield, and she arranged for Mission: Elliot, which
involved her other four roommates (and/or close friends) wear Captain
America costumes to the Halloween night party at Elliot's fraternity
house, Eta Theta Gamma, presumably to make her less conspicuous.
(The
United States of Captain America#4) - After her other rooomates left
for the party, Arielle checked on Maribeth, assuring her that what
happened to her was not her fault and that she would not let Elliot --
whom she noted to be a predator and a bully -- get away with what he
had done. At the party, Elliot flirted with Arielle, calling her "sexy
ninja," and when she tried to brush him off, he grabbed her forcibly by
the arm, but one of his friends told him to leave her alone.
Arielle subsequently went up to Elliot's room,
found and reclaimed Maribeth's phone and then grabbed Elliot's phone as
well. She was then discovered by Elliot who refused to let her leave
with his phone and told her not to make him hurt her. When she told him
that she thought he liked hurting girls, he attacked her with his
Lacrosse stick. She blocked the attacks from her much larger attacker
with her shield, and when he tried to yank her shield out of her hands
and noted that she was no Steve Rogers, she countered that she had
always been more of a Bucky girl as she kneed him in the testicles. As
he dropped to the ground, Arielle took off and by the time he had
recovered and run out to the party, telling everyone to stop the girl
dressed as Captain America, at least four other Captain America girls
were present, allowing Arielle to slip away.
Arielle returrned to her room, gave Maribeth her phone and then
announced that she was going to give all of the information on Elliot's
phone (presumably evidence of others he harassed) to the news the next
day after she had made a copy.
The other roommates then arrived home and noted that
Mission Elliot was officially a success, cheering "Go Team Cap!"
Maribeth was touched that they had done this all for her, and Arielle
noted that while they could not undo what had happened, they had made
it really hard for Elliot to do this sort of thing again. Maribeth
noted that she wanted one of those shields, and Arielle told her they
would get her one for next time.
(The
United States of Captain America#4 (fb) - BTS) - Arielle hooked up with
Aaron Fischer and the Captains Network where she was known as the
Campus Captain America.
(The
United States of Captain America#4 (fb) - BTS) - Captain America
arranged to meet with Aaron and Arielle Agbayani at Sam Wilson's
Colorado cabin.
Arielle drove down from Boston through New York and
picked up Aaron and they drove together to Colorado, singing along with
the Hamilton soundtrack for six full performances.
Arielle got carsick driving up on the switchbacks (zigzag roads).
(The
United States of Captain America#4) - Aaron and Arielle arrived at
Sam's cabin, and Arielle admitted to having gotten carsick en route. After the Winter Soldier told them that things were
going to get pretty dangerous, Arielle assured him that they both got it and that it was amazing to meet them.
While Rogers and Barnes went out to meet and recruit USAgent (John
Walker), Aaron and Arielle played video games, and Aaron chose Iron Man
against Arielle's Captain America. As they both appreciated that Iron
Man would lose, Arielle asked why Aaron hadn't chosen someone like
Speedball who had a better chance, and Aaron replied that he did not
mind watching Iron Man losing to Cap.
(The
United States of Captain America#4 (fb) - BTS) - After Sam received a
report of a NORAD assault (by Commander Krieger/Warrior Woman,
Superior, and the still-controlled Speed Demon/Captain America), Aaron
and Arielle joined him in meeting up with Rogers and Barnes. As Aaron and Arielle
drove off behind the motorcycle-driving senior Caps, Aaron noted that
they would be happy to learn how to ride a cycle. They subsequently
learned that their enemies were seeking to liberate the Hate-Monger,
the psycho-active energy derived from Adolf Hitler's consciousness.
After they arrived at the NORAD facility, Aaron and Arielle sandwiched
Commander Krieger between their shields, briefly knocking the wind out
of her before they were both dropped by Roger's shield, thrown by
Superior. After Rogers dropped Superior, Aaron and Arielle were briefly
mesmerized by Commander Krieger using Roger's shield, until Cap
took out her feet.
Nonetheless, Krieger freed the Hate-Monger, and the
two escaped.
Arielle remained silent as the senior Caps discussed how they would obtain information from Superior.
(The
United States of Captain America#5) - Arielle joined Winter Soldier in
traveling to the home of USAF Captain Jeremy Merrick -- who had been in
charge of containing the Hate-Monger -- after he had found the message "Goodbye Captain...Goodbye America"
written on his door. After Merrick noted the threats the Hate-Monger
had made against his family, they resolved to get his daughter, Helena,
out of school early.
Although Steve Rogers instructed
them to come to California's Channel Islands based on information they had gotten
out of Superior, Bucky was worried that this did not seem right.
After Captain Jeremy Merrick
identified the defunct satellite station on Mount San Antonio on which
Captain Americas (Rogers, Walker, and Wilson) were being held, Arielle Agbayani joined Captain America/Bucky (James Barnes), Aaron Fischer, Joe Gomez,
Nichelle Wright, and approximately seven others in confronting the villains.
After Superior and Krieger had been defeated and Hate-Monger
re-contained, Steve Rogers deferred a public speech -- in place of the
planned Hate-Monger speech -- to the others, and Aaron proudly
spoke up, ensuring anyone listening that the Captains Network had their
backs.
Comments: Created by Alyssa Wong and Jodi Nishijima.
At the time of the story in The United
States of Captain America#3, Arielle was 19-years-old and a college sophomore.
It is not revealed what exactly
happened to Maribeth; she may or may not have been sexually assaulted,
but there's nothing discussed beyond him not getting away with what he
did to her and showing a handprint bruise on her right arm.
The montage shot of Arielle, which
also included the frontal image in the main, is pretty much perfect for
Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe...front, back, and two dynamic
action shots...would be great to have more of these for each new
character design.
