Duckey Crockett appears in a single panel with the name "Duckey Crockett" as one of a number of Howard counterparts in the "Other Versions of Howard the Duck" in two-page feature in Crazy Magazine#36.
Clearly, Duckey Crockett was inspired by Davy Crockett, from the Real World/Earth-1218; an American politician, militia official and frontiersman who perished at the Battle of the Alamo.
According to
our friend Wikipedia, Davy Crockett was born in 1786 in what is now
Limestone, Greene County, Tennessee (which was at the time part of the
proposed state of Franklin. He gained a reputation for hunting and
storytelling, was made a colonel in the militia of Lawrence County,
Tennessee, and was elected to the Tennessee state legislature in 1821,
and to the U.S. Congress in 1827. After losing an election in 1835, he
departed to the Mexican state Tejas (now Texas), and in 1836 he took
part in the Texas Revolution and died in the Battle of the Alamo under
unspecified circumstances. He had two wives and six children.
During his lifetime and after his death, he has been
credited with larger-than-life-exploits and acts of mythical
proportion. He is one of the best known American folk heroes.
No further context is available, but it makes me wonder:
