History:
("The Price," Eclipse Graphic Album Series#5 (fb) - BTS) - The Monarchy was a 12 century old dynasty, founded and maintained by the royal (and highly inbred) family of Dylogo and its armies.
(Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The
Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar (fb) - BTS) - Until approximately 200 years before the main story, the Monarchy
used to rule the entire Empirical Galaxy.
(Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The
Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar (fb) - BTS) - The royal family ruled the Monarchy from the Royal Palace in Jewelcity on the planet Jewelworld.
(Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The
Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar (fb) - BTS)
<Over two years before King Nellor's death (and presumably
significantly longer than that)> - King Nellor ruled the Monarchy
from the Royal Palace in Jewelcity, and his nephew Gregzor lived there
as well. Nellor worked with corporate powers -- it was unclear whether
they were present on Jewelworld and/or other worlds -- who wished to
maintain the war due to the profit that they achieved from it.
(Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The
Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar (fb) - BTS)
Having infiltrated the Monarchy's military with the ultimate goal of
vengefully slaying Nellor for his responsibility in the slaughter of
the People of Caldor that had also slain his wife, Delilah, Vanth
Dreadstar achieved too much success in the war and was transferred to
the Royal Palace.
(Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The
Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar)
- Aided by the magics of Syzygy Darklock, Dreadstar slew King Nellor,
coerced Gregzor into secretly following his guidance to bring about the
war's end, and escaped into a tavern to meet with Syzygy and plan to
gather a group of like-minded folk to their cause.
