Powers/Abilities: Warhoon are the most
war-like and cruel of the six-limbed Green Martian tribes, and Krakas
is no

warrior, including a shield. He has apparently adjusted his weight
difference on his left side by adding a left-mounted armored shoulder
carapace.
Height: 15'
Weight: Unrevealed
Eyes: Black
Hair: None
History:
(John Carter, Warlord of Mars#1 (fb) - BTS) -
Green Martian Krakas of the brutal Warhoon tribe lost his lower left
forearm to a Red Martian (presumably in battle). Much later, genocidal
racial supremacist Stara Kan had Red Martian Princess Dejah Thoris captured to
extract the secrets of planet Mars' life-sustaining atmosphere factory.
Kan had Krakas interrogate her in the abandoned ruins of
Zodanga city. Kan warned Krakas that Thoris' devoted Earthman husband
John Carter would find him to rescue Thoris. Krakas had many guards,
including Grunt-Ar, patrolling the ruins, while he supervised the
callous interrogation of chained Thoris by Gagarr, watched by other
Warhoon warriors. Thoris and Carter's Green Martian friend (of the
rival Thark tribe) had also been captured and chained to a column.
(John Carter, Warlord of Mars#1) - Via their
telepathic link, Carter knew Thoris had been taken to Zodanga. Carter's
enhanced Earthman physical prowess (due to Mars' lower gravity) helped
him eliminate his foes, and he learned Thoris' exact location in the
tower and
bounded up there. Meanwhile, Krakas had Gagarr strike Thoris multiple
times to glean the secret information with no success. Carter arrived
and killed Gagarr, then challenged Krakas after slaying the other
Warhoon warriors there. Krakas armed himself heavily with two swords
and a shield, and the two fought fiercely but briefly, with nimble
Carter proving the quicker, and Krakas died with Carter's sword plunged
deep in his chest.
Comments: Created by Marv Wolfman, Gil Kane, Dave Cockrum. Based on characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Chronology-wise, as defined in Marv Wolfman's
editorial in John Carter, Warlord of Mars#1, Marvel's stories (unless
they stated otherwise) were set "between paragraphs 3 and 4 in Chapter
27 of Edgar Rice Burroughs' book A Princess of Mars" (that
text finishes with a non-descript sentence of a nine-year period where
newly married Carter "served in the councils and fought in the armies
of Helium as a prince"). So Marvel certainly saw it as in-continuity
with Burroughs' works... but Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. seems to only
recognize comics published by American Mythology since 2020 as canon.

CLARIFICATIONS
:
Krakas has no known connections to:
Green Martian Gagarr of the brutal Warhoon tribe was
Krakas' main torturer after they abducted Red Martian Princess Dejah Thoris and
tried to extract the secrets of planet Mars' life-sustaining atmosphere
factory for the genocidal racial supremacist Stara Kan. Krakas and
several other Warhoon warriors watched on as Gagarr brutalized the
chained Thoris until her devoted husband John Carter arrived and killed
Gagarr with a sword thrown through his chest.
--John Carter, Warlord of Mars#1
Grunt-Ar was a Green Martian of the savage Warhoon tribe. He was part of a group commanded by Krakas and guarded the area in the Zodonga ruins in anticipation of a rescue effort after their kidnapping of Red Martian Princess Dejah Thoris for the genocidal racial supremacist Stara Kan. Thoris' devoted husband, the Earthman John Carter, soon arrived and fought multiple Warhoon warriors, his enhanced Earthman physical prowess (due to Mars' lower gravity) helping him to eliminate his foes, including the over-confident warrior Grunt-Ar.
