(War of the Realms: War Scrolls#2/3 (fb) - BTS) - The drag queen performer known as Krystal M'Kraan was a well-known entertainer in New York City and part of the House of Jumbo Carnation a group of LGBTQ+ individuals who lived as a chosen family drawing inspiration from the legendary mutant fashion icon, Jumbo Carnation.
(War of the Realms: War Scrolls#2/3 - BTS) - Krystal M'Kraan was a frequent hostess of her own brunch extravaganza in the heart of Manhattan, drawing a crowd that included the celebrated superhero duo, Wiccan and Hulkling, who made regular appearances to enjoy her performances.
(War of the Realms: War Scrolls#2/3) - During another of her brunch-shows, Krystal took the stage adorned in an interpretation of Phoenix's attire, drawing cheers from the enthusiastic audience. Amidst the excitement, she spotted Wiccan's sudden arrival, teleporting in to rendezvous with his friend Kate Bishop (in reality Loki). Krystal, ever the quick-witted hostess, teasingly inquired about Wiccan's absent partner, prompting a playful response, nodding to her vintage X-Men ensemble. While Wiccan and Bishop sat down to chat, Krystal performed her show. As the show went on Krystal also performed a vogueing session alongside a performer dressed as Emma Frost.

Although Krystal is part of the House of Jumbo Carnation it doesn't mean she and the House have any real connection to Jumbo Carnation of his official fashion brand the House of Carnation. In the gay ballroom scene, a "house" is a chosen family or community, providing support, identity, and belonging for LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly those who are marginalized or rejected by biological or societal families. Well known examples of this are the House of Balenciaga and the House of Mugler, who have chosen famous fashion brands that inspire them without having any association with them.
Krystal's costume is a homage to the Phoenix while her name is an homage to the M'Kraan Crystal.
