History:

(Avengers I#185 (fb) - BTS) - Fearing her husband and his strange powers, the pregnant Magda fled into the mountains of Wundagore where she came across the High Evolutionary's Citadel of Science. She was granted asylum and in the weeks leading up to the birth of her twins, she grew close to the evolved cow-woman Bova who helped deliver the children. When Magda disappeared to parts unrevealed and an attempt to have the babies adopted by the visiting Robert and Madeline Frank failed, the High Evolutionary stepped in. He delivered the children who would be Pietro and Wanda to the gypsy shaman Django Maximoff and his wife.

Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 (fb) - BTS) - Wanda and her brother Pietro were living a quiet life in the Transian countryside with their adoptive family when their true father Erik Lensherr came back into their lives. He informed them they were mutants and offered his children a place by his side. They agreed to help him recruit other mutants so they could make his dream of peaceful co-existence with humanity a reality.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1) - Now calling himself Magneto, Erik took Wanda, Pietro and their recruits into hiding. They took up residence on Mount Wundagore in Transia. There, aided by the evolved cow-woman Bova, the Lensherrs provided a place for young mutants to learn how to master their powers and fight for genetic equality.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1 (fb) - BTS) - To ensure his young wards had the best possible chance of survival, Magneto proved to be a stern, often brutal taskmaster. He subjected Wanda and the others to daily, rigorous training exercises in a combat simulator his students dubbed 'The Killing Zone'.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1) - After breezing through the combat simulator on level 3, Magneto surprised Wanda and her teammates by starting a new simulation on level 4. When Wanda protested, Magneto reminded his daughter they always needed to be prepared for the unexpected. To add even more unexpected elements, he introduced them to the team's latest recruit: the feral Weapon X who promptly went into a berserker rage before Jean was able to calm him down.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1 - BTS) - Magneto ordered Wanda and the others to show Weapon X around while he went to meet Mystique and another young recruit: Rogue.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1) - Some time later, Wanda gave Rogue a tour of Wundagore, telling her about the school, its purpose and how her father was inspired by one Charles Xavier to follow his dream years ago. Magneto joined them to explain who Charles was before Quicksilver rushed in to tell him that Apocalypse's forces were attacking Cape Citadel. This convinced Magneto the time had come for the X-Men to act. He gathered a team, but insisted Wanda remained on Wundagore to protect Rogue and the other younger mutants. Wanda didn't understand why she was forced to stay behind, prompting Magneto to explain that he needed someone here he could trust to carry on in case he didn't come back. Wanda didn't even want to entertain that notion as she saw her father and friends off.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1 - BTS) - Not too long after Magneto and the X-Men left aboard their jet, Wundagore was attacked by Apocalypse's son Nemesis who was hoping to make a name for himself.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1) - Nemesis' initial blasts caused massive damage and cost several students their lives. Wanda ordered the remaining pupils into the underground shelters. But before she could ask Rogue to take the youngest recruits, she realized Rogue had gone off to face the villain on her own. Wanda went outside to help out Rogue with Nemesis. She arrived in time to save her after he blasted the young girl with his energy absorption powers. Wanda's hex managed to actually hurt the villain. He assured her she'd pay dearly for that.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1 - BTS) - Nemesis focused his attention on Wanda. During the fight, she managed to chase him off but she was mortally wounded in the process.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1) - When Rogue recovered, she found Wanda in the smoking rubble. Maximoff's first concern was for the students' safety. Well aware she was dying, she ignored Rogue's claims everything was going to be fine. In her final moments she insisted that Rogue would convince her father Wundagore wasn't safe anymore. She also had Rogue promise to help her father shoulder his burden and be a friend to him.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 (fb) - BTS) - Young Alison Blaire was one of the recruits that Wanda kept safe from Nemesis. The sacrifice of the Scarlet Witch made Blaire determined to follow in her footsteps, train hard and become an X-Man.

(X-Men Chronicles I#1) - After successfully repelling Apocalypse and his underlings, Magneto returned home to Transia with the X-Men only to learn of his daughter's demise. As the X-Men looked on, he cradled her broken body in his arms.

(X-Men Chronicles I#2 (fb) ) - Bova, Magneto and the X-Men laid Wanda to rest on Mount Wundagore.

(Weapon X I#3 - BTS) - On his way to meet Gateway at Wundagore, Weapon X passed Wanda's gravesite, which caused him to think back on both the happy times and tragedies he experienced during his time on the mountain.

(Uncanny X-Force I#19.1 (fb) - BTS) - After learning that Earth-616's Scarlet Witch possesses reality warping powers powerful enough to deactivate the X-gene, the X-Terminated and the Human Resistance began work on a convoluted plan to end the mutant threat. Somehow obtaining a sample of Wanda Maximoff's DNA, geneticist David Moreau created several clones of her. Because the copies were mindless, they required a telepath to operate her powers. They were hoping they could rope the powerful telepath Jean Grey to enter Wanda's brain and activate her abilities.

(Uncanny X-Force I#19.1 - BTS) - Magneto and Rogue were on hand to join Jean at Moreau's lab. He was horrified when he witnessed several clones of his long lost daughter, causing him to rise up out of his chair to magnetically destroy all but one.

Considering Earth-295's divergence point from Earth-616 is the death of Charles Xavier, this technically means that Earth-295's Scarlet Witch had the same past as her Earth-616 counterpart. However, since this has not (yet) been confirmed on panel, it's not included in the profile.

All locations mentioned are Earth-295, unless otherwise specified.

Scarlet Witch of Earth-295 was included in the X-Men profile in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1
