History:

(Homer Hooper#1/1) - Casual daters Peaches and lanky Shorty wistfully looked at friend Homer Hooper romantic kissing and canoodling his sweetheart Jeanie outside the Midville High school dance. Peaches wished someone would hold her close like that and Shorty joked about her being overweight.

(Homer Hooper#1/2) - On the bus with Peaches, Jeanie noticed a young man winking at her. Jeanie checked the time with Peaches so she could catch the same bus the next day.

(Homer Hooper#1/6) - On a date with Shorty at the cinema, Peaches kept asking for various foods during the film, making Shorty go out several times. The next day, Peaches suggested another movie date; the frustrated Shorty brought her a menu so she wouldn't send him on so many trips for food.

(Homer Hooper#1/9) - Unkind banter between Peaches and Shorty went too far and Peaches felt insulted, so she jilted him. Peaches chanced upon Jeanie and they enjoyed time together at a soda shop talking about boyfriend trouble. Later, Shorty regretted his behavior and called Peaches' home; Peaches' father told him she had taken Poison (her pet dog). Thinking Peaches had taken toxic poison over the breakup, Shorty rushed over only to discover the truth and fainted in exasperation. Peaches was smitten again, thinking Shorty had fainted because he was glad to see her again (although the dog was suspicious).

(Homer Hooper#1/10) - The high school bulletin board revealed a Hollywood movie star was visiting the school and someone from the group's class was asked to escort her around the school. Flash paid off the other males so they wouldn't volunteer and rival Homer didn't challenge him as he knew who the star was. The class laughed when it was revealed that the Hollywood star was canine Sassie the Wonder Dog.

(Homer Hooper#2/3) - Peaches was at a store to buy new perfume but became scared at the bizarre names of the fragrances like "Beware" and "At Your Own Risk"!

(Homer Hooper#2/7) - Peaches joined Jeanie at a holiday cabin but the climate, food and location were terrible. However, when Jeanie revealed she chose it because it was next to a boys' camp, Peaches became keen and called up her mother to tell her she'd be staying a while at the vacation "paradise"!

(Homer Hooper#2/9) - Peaches was eager to submit a picture to an amateur photo contest of the Daily Bugle newspaper. Peached ignored Shorty's flurry of light-hearted insults and after several attempts, a snap of her wide cheesy smile was taken. The film was developed and she posted the photo to the newspaper the next day. The following day, Peaches was excited; although she hadn't won, the Daily Bugle thought the photo was of a mask and asked readers to identify who was wearing it! Peaches was ecstatic with the short-lived fame and $100 pay.

(Homer Hooper#3/3) - Peaches entered the Midville High Beauty Contest but Homer was the judge and intended to award it to his sweetheart Jeanie. As the female candidates paraded in their one-piece bathing suits, Homer was cajoled by various people keen to have their preferred candidate win, including Shorty telling Homer to let Peaches win. Realizing no matter who he awarded as winner, Homer opted to award the class teacher Miss Hacksaw with the beauty cup, which received much cheer.

(Homer Hooper#3/5) - Shorty accompanied Peaches shopping for a new fashion hat. Peaches disliked each one until she discovered one final hat. The salesperson advised no, but Peaches insisted and paid money (signage "all hats $3.00)"  before leaving indignantly. It was then that Shorty informed her that it was the same hat she wore going in!

(Homer Hooper#3/6) - Jeanie arrived 15 minutes late to meet Peaches. Jeanie admitted it was because she was slowing down for a handsome man behind her who was walking in the same direction.

(Homer Hooper#4/6) - On a moonlit evening on a bench together, Shorty held Peaches head in his hands and closed her eyes, but only to brush away a mosquito, dashing Peaches' hopes for a romantic kiss.

(Homer Hooper#4/9) - On a cinema date with Peaches, Shorty got confused about minding a seat for another cinema-goer.

Comments: Created by uncredited writer (likely Stan Lee) & Hy Rosen.

Is it Earth-616? Nothing to strike it out. Plus the Daily Bugle newspaper is mentioned in an amateur photography contest in issue #2.

Credits info from the Grand Comics Database. I suspect Stan Lee is the writer of issue #1 as well.
