History: (Spider-Verse I#2/5 (fb) - BTS)
- Ricochet was recruited into the Multiversal Spider-Army to aid in
defeating the Earth-001 Inheritors.
(Spider-Verse
I#2/5)
- Ricochet joined numerous other Spider-totems on Earth-001's Loomworld
in a massive battle against the Inheritors.
(Spider-Man IV#2 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, Ricochet was corrupted by Earth-616's Shathra the Spider-Wasp and transformed into one of her insectoid Hive servants alongside numerous other Spider-totems from across the Multiverse.
(Spider-Man
VI#2 (fb)) - When the Inheritor learned of the deaths of his family, he
stormed Earth-001's Loomworld, only to find Shathra the Spider-Wasp
sitting on the throne and himself surrounded by Ricochet and other
corrupted Shathra underlings. Defeating Ricochet and growing tired of
fighting Shathra's underlings, Morlun demanded to face Shathra herself
but he was easily defeated and forced to flee into the Multiverse.
(Spider-Man
IV#2) - Surrounded by Ricochet and an army of corrupted Spider-totems,
Shathra sensed that the newly-corrupted Miles Morales of Earth-1610 was
one of the last Spider-totems left in the Multiverse.
(Spider-Man
IV#3) - Ricochet was one of the many corrupted members of Shathra's
Hive sent to the Delvadian Temple of Neith on Earth-616 to halt
Earth-616's Spider-Man and his allies from uncovering an artifact they
hoped to use to resurrect Earth-616's Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew).
(Spider-Man IV#4) - Following the erasure of Earth-616's Spider-Man from existence, Ricochet continued battling Earth-616's Arana and Earth-194's Night-Spider, whom knocked him aside as the duo fought off the Hive.
(Spider-Man
IV#7) - When the Web of Life and Destiny began to heal itself following
the restoration of numerous Spider-totems originally killed by the
Inheritor Morlun, Ricochet was restored to normal alongside the many
other Spider-totems corrupted by Shathra. He then joined the former
members of the Hive and the Spider-totems not corrupted by Shathra
against a gigantic Shathra. Upon Shathra's defeat, Ricochet was present
when Earth-001's Neith appeared and provided a means of resurrecting
the erased Earth-616 Spider-Man, Spider-Woman and Spider-Boy.
Comments: Created by Dan Slott and Ty
Templeton.
Ricochet's physical stats are based on Peter Parker of 616.
Ricochet was never actually identified by name in any of his appearances but one can assume he's called Ricochet, given that he is wearing a costume identical to that of Earth-616's Peter Parker when he used the identity of Ricochet.
We don't have 100% confirmation that this particular Ricochet counterpart is Peter Parker beneath the armor. We do know that it is male and since Ricochet appears in gatherings of Spider-totems, it seems likely that he is a counterpart of the spider-powered Peter Parker and not the mutant Johnny Gallo, who took up the Ricochet identity after Peter Parker of Earth-616 (though one COULD argue that it could be a Johnny Gallo from a reality in which he gained spider-powers...). Whoever is behind the mask would at the very least be someone who had spider-powers. Otherwise, he would not have been drawn into the battle against the Inheritors. I'd lean towards it being a Peter Parker counterpart who kept the Ricochet identity longterm in his reality vs. the short term use of the identity on Earth-616.
Regardless of who is behind
Ricochet's mask, we are also not given any sort of origin for this
counterpart of Ricochet so we don't know if he gained spider-powers by
mutation, mutant genetics or some other form of empowerment. We don't
even know how he acquired the Ricochet costume...
