History:
(Avengers VII#50 (fb) - BTS) - The Agent of Wakanda known as Ka-Zar was
sent on a reconnaissance mission through time to chart the history of
Earth's legacy superhuman powers. As part of the mission, Ka-Zar was
given the Time Knife, a bladed weapon imbued with Celestial circuitry,
and sent first back to the prehistoric past of 1,000,000 B.C.
(Avengers VII#50) - While still in 1,000,000 B.C.., Ka-Zar was assaulted by robots utilized by the time-traveling Kid Thanos, who recognized Ka-Zar as a fellow time-traveler and noted that his Time Knife in particular was not native to the time period. With the aid of the Avengers of 1,000,000 B.C., Ka-Zar successfully defeated Kid Thanos and the boy was banished back to his own time by the mystic Agamotto. Convinced that the prehistoric past was in the safe hands of the Avengers of 1,000,000 B.C., Ka-Zar had the Time Knife return him to his own proper time period. Clutching the Time Knife, Ka-Zar was then transported forward through time, only to find himself pulled out of the timestream by a trio of "time-seeking missiles." When the "time-seeking missiles" deposited Ka-Zar at some point in Earth-616's distant past, Ka-Zar noticed that the Time Knife had been disabled and dropped it to the ground. Attacked by Earth-4111's Iron Inquisitor, Ka-Zar reached for the Time Knife but the Iron Inquisitor gloated on how he had disabled the Time Knife's Celestial circuitry. Reminding the Iron Inquisitor that the Time Knife was still a knife with or without the Celestial circuitry, Ka-Zar used the knife to attack the Iron Inquisitor's armored face, knocking loose his helmet and revealing him as the Earth-4111 counterpart of Howard Stark. The Iron Inquisitor then punched Ka-Zar, causing him to drop the disabled Time Knife.
Blasting Ka-Zar aside, the Iron
Inquisitor soon departed Earth-616's past, stranding Ka-Zar there with
the disabled Time Knife. Picking up the Knife, Ka-Zar wondered why the
Iron Inquisitor would strand him at that particular point in history,
only to turn around and see the planet-devouring Galactus. Thinking
back, Ka-Zar thought how he'd spent his entire life surviving things
attempting to destroy him and, figuring that day would be no different,
Ka-Zar grabbed the disabled Time Knife and leaped at Galactus.

It's unclear who actually designed
the Time Knife. Given that Black Panther tasked Ka-Zar with charting
the history of Earth's legacy super powers and the Black Panther gave
the Time Knife to Ka-Zar, it seems likely that the Black Panther
might've designed the Time Knife using the Celestial circuitry inside
Avengers Mountain. It's also possible that the Time Knife might've been
something already inside the dead Celestial that made up Avengers
Mountain and the Black Panther merely passed it along to Ka-Zar...
