History:

(Astonishing X-Men I#3 (fb) - BTS) - The feral mutant Kyle Gibney came of age on the Canadian prairie where his main concern and joy was finding a warm patch of grass.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1) - Gibney was one of the original volunteers for Beta Flight, Canada's attempt at building a super soldier program to secure their borders against the onslaught of Apocalypse. Taking the codename Wild Child, Gibney's experiences in service of his country seemingly took away most of his capacity for human interaction and speech.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1) - During Canada's final days, Beta Flight was released in an attempt to slow the charge of Apocalypse's Infinites. While the Canadian evacuation planes for lceland were being loaded, Holocaust, along with a platoon of Infinite soldiers, attempted to massacre the escaping Canadians. Wild Child fought valiantly alongside his Beta Flight team making it possible for hundreds to escape Nova Scotia.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1) - Holocaust killed most of Beta Flight but allowed Gibney to survive. Believing Wild Child's ferocity would be an amazing asset for Apocalypse, Holocaust took him as a pet and used him as his first strike against his enemies. When dropped onto a battlefield, Wild Child was brutally efficient at tearing apart anything in his path but he could not distinguish between ally and foe. After attacking Holocaust himself during the battle of Mexico City, Wild Child was placed in the soldier rehabilitation center located on Alcatraz Island.

(
Age of Apocalypse One-Shot I#1/3 (fb) - BTS) - Wild Child did not take well to captivity. He grew even more aggressive and blood thirsty, eventually eating three of his cellmates. When Holocaust learned of this, he felt it would be a fitting punishment for his disobedient servant Sabretooth to share a cell with Wild Child.

(Age of Apocalypse One-Shot I#1/3) - Wild Child and Sabretooth fought for three straight days, pushing each other's healing powers to the limit until Sabretooth was forced to give into his animal fury. He brutally asserted his dominance over Wild Child who then instinctively accepted Victor Creed as his pack leader. Together, they managed to escape Alcatraz Island.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1) - When Sabretooth decided to travel to Wundagore Mountain to join Magneto and his X-Men, Wild Child was admitted to the team as well.

(Age of Apocalypse: The Chosen I#1 - BTS) - Apocalypse listed Wild Child and Sabretooth among his Chosen, mutants he deemed worthy of survival even though they were both "mindless savages who have found comfort in each other's company". Apocalypse did wonder if their symbiotic relationship had dulled their individual blood lust.

(X-Men Alpha I#1) - Wild Child joined Sabretooth and the X-Men on a mission to Seattle to try and stop the cullings carried out by Apocalypse's Infinite troops. Sabretooth sent Wild Child in to deal with the forces of prelate Unus. Together, they helped save the mysterious mutant Bishop who claimed to know Magneto.

(Astonishing X-Men I#1) - Sabretooth decided to join Rogue, Sunfire, Morph and Blink in their attempt to stop Holocaust and his forces from killing the human population of the midwest. He brought Wild Child, slumped unconscious over his shoulder, aboard the X-Men's shuttle.

(Astonishing X-Men I#2) - Wild Child remained unconscious for most of the X-Men reconnaissance mission in Chicago. Ultimately, Sabretooth convinced Blink to teleport him and Wild Child to Holocaust to buy the others time to help evacuate the city. Arriving near Holocaust, Sabretooth woke Wild Child up by briefly electrifying the chain he had him on. Awake and alert, Wild Child instantly picked up Holocaust's scent. Overly confident and unaware of Sabretooth's strategy, Holocaust freely revealed his plans and the location of the Infinite factory. Wild Child then ran off to get the information back to the X-Men, dodging the strafing fire of Holocaust's bio cannon.

(Astonishing X-Men I#3) - Wild Child was chased by Infinites who were ordered to stop him at all cost. One managed to hit him in the back with an energy weapon, puncturing a lung. However, he had managed to reach his fellow X-Men Sunfire and Morph who protected him until Rogue and Blink arrived. Unable to verbally share what he had learned, Wild Child licked Rogue's face to transfer his memories to her. Rogue briefly became possessed by his rage and bestial nature, brutally swatting him away to stop the transferal. Thanks to Wild Child's intel, the team was now aware of the location of the Infinite processing plant in Indianapolis. They decided to go infiltrate and destroy the facility.

(Astonishing X-Men I#4) - Wild Child aided the X-Men in their fight against the Infinites, even trying to take down Holocaust who involved himself in the fight. Ultimately the villain was forced to retreat because his life preserving armor was damaged during combat. Before he teleported out, he revealed that Apocalypse's forces had invaded their headquarters and that Magneto, Bishop and the others were their prisoners. The X-Men then vowed to take the fight to Apocalypse to make sure his reign ended once and for all.

(Amazing X-Men I#4) - Wild Child and the X-Men returned from Indianapolis to the Xavier Estate. Immediately, Rogue took Sabretooth and Wild Child into the tunnels so they could try and sniff out where her missing son Charles had gone. However, they encountered Dazzler, Exodus, Gambit and his X-Ternals who had learned Charles had been taken to Apocalypse's citadel. Returning to the estate, they ran into their other allies who had all returned from the various missions Magneto had sent them on: Shadowcat and Colossus had rescued the latent time traveler Illyana Rasputin, Nightcrawler brought the seer Destiny and the other X-Men had just liberated Bishop from the Madri. Together, they set forth to storm En Sabah Nur's stronghold on Apocalypse Island.

(X-Men Omega I#1) - Wild Child and the others were teleported into the Pens underneath Apocalypse's citadel by Blink.
He fought Apocalypse's forces, buying Bishop, Destiny and Illyana Rasputin time to enter the M'Kraan Crystal and restore the proper timeline.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1) - In the aftermath of the final battle against Apocalypse, Wild Child discovered the mostly feral were-mutant Rahne Sinclair in the ruins of New York City. With Magneto's aid, Sinclair slowly regained a tentative handle on her humanity.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1) - After Sabretooth became unstuck in time and left Earth-295 to serve the Time Broker, Wild Child was left to fend for himself. He grew closer to Morph who would frequently use his powers to mimic Wild Child's missing master.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse 2005 I#1) - Magneto sent Wild Child, Morph, Iceman and Exodus on an unrevealed mission from which they did not return. Because his team no longer had any trackers or active telepaths, Magneto was unable to easily locate his missing allies.

(Exiles I#84 - BTS) - Finally able to take a break from his duties as a member of the Exiles, Sabretooth returned to Earth-295 to check in on Wild Child. When he couldn't find Kyle, he met with Magneto and Rogue who told him Gibney was still missing in action. The Lensherrs assured Creed that finding Wild Child remained a top priority, even though it's not even clear if he's still alive.

(Exiles Days of Then And Now I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Wild Child found himself alone and on the run, getting chased by the anti-mutant group Friends of Humanity who were eager to make mutants pay for Apocalypse's reign of terror.

(
Exiles Days of Then And Now I#1- BTS) - Sabretooth used the Panoptichron's advanced scanners to locate Wild Child on Earth-295. Posing as the Timebroker, he made sure Earth-91172's Quentin Quire came to his aid.

(Exiles Days of Then And Now I#1) - Quentin Quire arrived on Earth-295 to save Wild Child from the Friends of Humanity. Sabretooth arranged for Wild Child to join Quire and a number of heroes from alternate Earths to help rescue Earth-91172 from Annihilus and his Annhilation wave. Wild Child, somehow sensing he could trust the Timebroker, cooperated. He joined Quire and the others to aid Earth-91172's remaining heroes in beating back the alien invaders. In the aftermath Wild Child, now guided by Nighthawk, decided to remain on this Earth.

(Uncanny X-Force I#11 (fb) - BTS) - Through unrevealed ways, Wild Child returned to Earth-295 where he rejoined Sabretooth and the  X-Men who were now residing in New Atlantis. From there, they struggled against the oppression of Weapon Omega and Clan Akkaba who had taken over New York again. Over time, he relearned to communicate verbally, though his vocabulary remained limited and his focus was mainly on causing violence.

(Uncanny X-Force I#11) - When Earth-616's X-Force came to Earth-295 with Dark Beast to claim one of that realities' Celestial Lifeseeds, they found themselves opposed by Wild Child and a contingent of X-Men. Believing them clones, the X-Men tore into the newcomers with Wild Child and Sabretooth teaming up against Wolverine who took them both down. The fight ended when Sunfire destroyed the Lifeseed and Sabretooth recognized Earth-616's Psylocke from their time as members of the Exiles. The X-Men took their visitors to New Atlantis to meet with Magneto and Jean Grey.

(Uncanny X-Force I#12) - Earth-616's X-Force and Magneto's X-Men joined forces to secure another Celestial Lifeseed and find a way to return them to their native reality. Thanks to the X-Men's newest member M.O.D.O.K., they located usable Lifeseeds within a Celestial killed by Apocalypse years earlier. Wild Child joined the effort to free the teleporter Gateway from Clan Akkaba's prison The Sky. However, once inside they found the Black Legion and Weapon Omega waiting there for him. The villain killed Wild Child's teammate X-23 with a single blast from his hand cannon.

(Uncanny X-Force I#13) - During the fight with the Black Legion, Wild Child tried to take on Blob. However, the large villain proved impervious to his claws and once he got a hold of Gibney, he began to devour his arm. Wild Child was rescued by Sabretooth, but not before he lost a limb. While his arm regrew, Weapon Omega kidnapped Jean Grey forcing the heroes to mount a rescue effort with aid from the liberated Gateway. Weapon Omega was ready for the heroes he was familiar with, but the elusive Fantomex managed to outsmart him long enough for Jean to be freed. Using the Phoenix Force, she forced Weapon Omega to back down before returning X-Force to Earth-616 with the Lifeseed.

(Spider-Bot I#7) - When Earth-616's Spider-Bot and Lockjaw went on an unexpected trip across several alternate realities, they briefly landed on Earth-295 where Sabretooth had a hard time keeping Wild Child from chasing after the giant teleporting dog.

(Uncanny X-Force I#17) - Wild Child joined his X-Men on a trip to Earth-616 to help deal with the rising threat of Archangel, now corrupted and empowered by a Celestial Deathseed. During a showdown in the artificial environment known as The World, Archangel casually cut Wild Child in half with his razor sharp wings. The feral mutant was unable to recover from this massive injury (see comments).

(X-Termination I#1 - BTS) - Wild Child was laid to rest with the other fallen X-Men in a memorial garden outside New York City, complete with life-size statues.

(Strange Academy I#14 (fb) - BTS) - Jericho Drumm showed his class at Strange Academy images of Earth-295 during the Age of Apocalypse as part of his lesson on time travel and the major impact even minor changes can have. The school's time travel advisory prohibited students from visiting Earth-295 during the Age of Apocalypse without a faculty member or sorcerer present.

(Rise of the Powers of X I#5) - Wild Child was among the many deceased mutants from countless realities whose souls were summoned to the White Hot Room by Earth-616's Jean Grey to help her and the Phoenix finally defeat the multiverse spanning threat of Nathaniel Essex.

Considering Earth-295's divergence point from Earth-616 is the death of Charles Xavier, this means that technically Earth-295's Wild Child should largely have the same upbringing as his Earth-616 counterpart. However, since this has not (yet) been confirmed on panel, it's not included in the profile.

Wild Child is a bit of an odd one. Everyone acknowledges that he is a fellow mutant, they even continually call him Kyle... And yet, no one questions Sabretooth treating him like a wild animal, even zapping him in and out of consciousness when needed. Sabretooth appears without Wild Child in several stories, which makes you wonder where he kept his "pup"... You'd almost think he was kept in a crate for his own safety.

There were seemingly no attempts made to restore his grasp on humanity. Perhaps the fact Magneto's X-Men roster was notoriously light on (trained) telepaths had something to do with that..

The
Age of Apocalypse One-Shot did a nice job establishing how Wild Child and Sabretooth met. It's a little odd that they were already wearing the exact same outfit during that first meeting. A possible explanation might be that they both worked for Holocaust and this is simply the costume hound type servants wore.

Speaking of odd... You'd think Wild Child's healing factor would have been able to cope with the injury that ultimately killed him. After all, if you can regrow an am within minutes, replacing the lower part of the body should also have been doable. Maybe the fact Archangel was empowered by the Celestial Deathseed somehow made the injury more severe or the Death Seed possibly negated Kyle's healing abilities.

Not sure what the whole point was of moving Wild Child to Earth-91172 and make him a member of Quentin Quire's Exiles in the Days of then and now oneshot. We never got to see the team again and by the time Wild Child showed up again he was back on Earth-295 no questions asked. Maybe Sabretooth decided to pick him up when he himself headed back to his native reality.

All locations mentioned are Earth-295, unless otherwise specified.
