History:
(Official Handbook of the Marvel
Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse I#1) - An only child,
Rahne's mutant powers emerged during the culling of Scotland by the
Horseman of Apocalypse known as Mikhail. Her parents attempted to hide
her but failed. The young girl was discovered by Mikhail's hounds and
brought before him alongside her parents.
(Official
Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse I#1) - Mikhail
made her beg for her parents' lives, making her pledge allegiance to
Apocalypse. Through her tears, Rahne promised her life to Apocalypse.
Rasputin thanked her for her loyalty but reduced her parents to ash
anyway. Unable to cope with these horrible actions, she permanently
retreated into her wolf form.
(Official
Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse I#1)
- After that ordeal, she was shipped to the
Dark Beast's labs. The Dark Beast took her on as a special project,
believing that she could be his key to reverting from his mutated
bestial form to his original human appearance. Dark Beast adopted her as
a pet of sorts, pushing her feral abilities beyond their limits. For
months she remained in her wolf state, never straying far from Dark
Beast's side.
(Factor-X I#1) - Wolfsbane alerted her master when Alex Summers entered
the Beast's lab. Not caring for the wolf, Summers mocked McCoy for
letting in strays.
(Factor-X I#2) - Wolfsbane was around when prelate Alex Summers and his
rooks Samuel and Elizabeth Guthries brought inmate Lorna Dane from the
Pens to the lab so McCoy could conduct further tests on her.
(Factor-X I#3) - Wolfsbane attempted to jump Jean Grey when she was
trying to escape the Pens. Grey felt the attack coming and knocked the
wolf to the side with a strong telekinetic blast. However, Jean stopped
when she sensed a human presence buried beneath the animal's psyche.
During the probe, Jean got so distracted she was captured by prelate
Alex Summers who told Wolfsbane she was a 'good dog' for helping out.
(Factor-X I#4) - Wolfsbane
tried to comfort Alex Summers after he got knocked out by his brother
who was trying to free the Pens' prisoners. Furious and humiliated, Alex
snapped at the lapping animal.
(Official
Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse I#1)
- During the final battle with Apocalypse, and
after the Dark Beast teleported away in the M'Kraan Crystal, Rahne
wandered the ruins of New York City in her wolf form. Discovered by Wild
Child during an X-Men patrol, Rahne was brought to Magneto. With the
help of the X-Men, and the now missing Wild Child, Rahne was able to
regain her transitional wolf girl form.
(Official
Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men - Age of Apocalypse I#1) -
Over the next year, through counseling and great
effort, Rahne learned to keep her animal side at bay. She eventually
joined the X-Men.
(X-Men: Age of Apocalypse I#2
(fb) - BTS) - Over time, Rahne grew close to two other recent recruits:
Beak and the mysterious Xorn (secretly Paige
Guthrie out on a mission of vengeance).
(X-Men: Age of Apocalypse One-Shot I#1) -
Over the next year, the X-Men went from freedom fighters to a fully
authorized law enforcement organization, thanks to Magneto being named
acting director of mutant affairs by the
newly elected US president Robert Kelly. Wolfsbane and the others moved
to the new Xavier Institute in Washington D.C., There, they began their
new mission: hunting down and capturing everyone who worked for
Apocalypse.
(X-Men: Age of Apocalypse I#1) - Wolfsbane joined the X-Men in
a televised raid on the Massachusetts Academy to take out the
Hellions. Magneto used the footage of his team's performance
to show the media what he had accomplished as director of
mutant affairs. She later joined Magneto and her teammates for
dinner in Washington.
(X-Men: Age of
Apocalypse I#2) - Wolfsbane and Beak went to visit Xorn in the
Xavier Institute infirmary after she was wounded by the
Morlocks on a mission to New York. Rahne and Beak wanted to
head down into the holding area to teach the responsible
Morlocks Feral, Thornn and Marrow a lesson, but Xorn reminded
them that not too long ago they too were trapped in Sinister's
labs. Shamed, Rahne replied that she only wanted to make her
friend feel better. When Xorn assured her and Beak it was all
right, they left her for the night.
(X-Men: Age of Apocalypse I#3) - Wolfsbane joined her fellow
X-Men for a friendly, though rowdy game of touch football
outside of the Xavier Institute. When she got the ball, Rahne
was besieged from all sides, but she managed to maintain her
composure and remained in human form. The game ended when
Cerebro picked up the brain patterns of of wanted criminals Sam, Josh en Elizabeth Guthrie
near the White House. Rahne remained behind while Storm and
the X-Men went out to capture them.
(X-Men: Age of
Apocalypse I#5) - Wolfsbane was present when Magneto admitted
to the X-Men that he been lying to them for the past year. It
wasn't him who dismantled the nuclear bombs but Jean Grey who
was still alive and in Mr. Sinister's hands. Magneto also
admitted that he had struck a deal with the villain to allow
him to keep Jean just to make sure his hidden shame remained a
secret. After his story, Wolfsbane was ready to tear Magneto
apart for having lied to them. She was stopped by the equally
furious Weapon X who still felt cooler heads should prevail.
(X-Men: Age of Apocalypse I#6) - After Jean Grey was
freed and Sinister was killed, Magneto surrendered himself to
the authorities to stand trial for having misled the public.
Wolfsbane remained with the X-Men who were now led by
Jean.

Earth-295's divergence point from Earth-616
is the death of Charles Xavier twenty years in the past. Apparently,
this did not influence the birth of Rahne Sinclair who was still in
her early teens by the time the Age of Apocalypse came and went.
It was only briefly hinted that Dark Beast's pet wolf from Factor-X
might be more than, well, a pet wolf. It took a decade until
Wolfsbane's handbook entry confirmed that it was, indeed, Rahne
Sinclair. Having her take a li(c)king to Alex Summers was a nice nod
to 616 continuity in which the Genoshans messed with Rahne's genetic
structure to make her slavishly loyal to Havok.
Rahne's fate post 2005 remains unrevealed, it's likely she's among the
many mutants and humans who perished during Weapon Omega's rise to
power.
All locations mentioned are Earth-295, unless otherwise specified.
