History: (Marvel Super-Heroes III#7/3 (fb))- Kathryn Cinnibar was once in love with Joey Farrell, and influenced him into performing a criminal act for her. Farrell was captured and tried, but Cinnibar never went to see him during his trial. While he was away in prison, Cinnibar married another man, only so that she could kill him and take over his criminal empire. When Farrell returned to Cinnibar, he had become the superhuman Deacon, and proposed that they use his powers to rule the Los Angeles' crime scene.

(Marvel Super-Heroes III#7/3)- Kathryn monitored Deacon's activities as he set out to force their rivals into paying protection money. However, when the only major gangsters left were the Deacon, Shroud and Cinnibar, Deacon turned on Cinnibar. He led a raid upon her building in an attempt to capture her, but the Shroud came to Cinnibar's rescue, spiriting her out of her elevator car.

The Shroud attempted to flee with Cinnibar so that he could use her as bait for the Deacon, but the Deacon caught up to them early, and brought down the Shroud. He placed the Shroud and Kathryn upon wooden posts so that he could dunk them into a pool, the ancient method of testing for witches-- should they emerge from the water, he would have his men shoot them. However, the Shroud was able to escape his bonds and defeat the Deacon. He then removed Cinnibar's gag as she pleaded with him to release her, but the Shroud responded that he wasn't interested in her...this time. He left her tied to the post.
