History:
(Defenders I#48 - BTS) - Gemini was one of the LMDs (Life Model Decoys) created in the Theater
of Genetics by Scorpio
(Jake Fury), who wanted him to serve as a member of his Zodiac, and to
be his friend.
(Defenders I#49 - BTS) - When the Defenders invaded the Theater of Genetics, Scorpio was forced to activate the LMDs prematurely.
(Defenders I#50) - Gemini released his two other selves to fight the Defenders, but became conflicted as to where his loyalties should lie. His reasonable side chose the Zodiac, and his emotional side chose the Defenders. He finally resolved to obey emotion, and came to aid the Defenders. Finding Hellcat under attack by Leo, Gemini caught Leo within a water vent and blasted him out into the river.
(Defenders I#51) - S.H.I.E.L.D. came to clean up at the Theater of Genetics, and Gemini stood by Hellcat while she was treated by medics to make certain she was well taken care of.
(Savage She-Hulk I#12 (fb)) - Gemini willingly surrendered himself to Nick Fury and the other agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury then oversaw the deactivation of Gemini and the other androids, but the Defenders put in a good word in his behalf for helping them. Without knowing what to do with him, Fury released Gemini on his own recognizance.
(Savage She-Hulk I#12) - Gemini turned up on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, California where he felt at home with the "other weirdos." Based upon his own empathic perceptions, he realized that human nature was not quite as perverse as Scorpio had lead him to believe. Another thing Scorpio had instilled in him was a taste for beer. While bemoaning his lack of money, he encountered Thomas and Angela LeClerc. The LeClercs had hired a young thug to kill Dr. Michael Morbius, who had killed their daughter some time before as part of his then-uncontrolled bloodlust. Since developing a cure for that bloodlust, Morbius had been defended in court by Jennifer Walters (the She-Hulk) for his crimes, but was found guilty on a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter since he could not control his actions. Unhappy of the reduced sentence, the LeClercs decided to use their life savings to have Morbius killed, but the thug refused to follow through on the deal and began threatening the LeClercs for more money. Gemini saved them, but then they hired him to kill Morbius, whom they considered a murderer freed on a technicality. Gemini only wanted to confront Morbius to discern the truth, but Jen Walters was abducted as well for being an accessory in his defense.
In a remote location, Gemini gleaned the facts of the case from Walters and Morbius, and decided the court verdict was a fair one; but in scanning the LeClercs, he realized the value of their rage and decided to stay neutral in what they wished. Rather than risk Jennifer's life, Morbius tried to take his own life by jumping off a cliff, but the LeClercs only saw him as trying to rob them of their revenge. Morbius survived the fall, and Gemini clashed with the She-Hulk trying to protect him. Thomas LeClerc then raised his pistol to kill Morbius, but in a moment of clarity, he realized he had a choice against being a murderer while Morbius did not, and he tossed away his gun, his revenge spent. Having defeated the She-Hulk, Gemini then returned Morbius back to his lab for the serum that counteracted his bloodlust.
(West Coast Avengers Annual#1) - With different powers, Gemini joined the Zodiac under the leadership of Quicksilver in his attempt to gain revenge upon the Avengers. He joined Cancer and Quicksilver in confronting the Avengers at Avengers Mansion and fought Captain America, but reversed to his other personality mid-fight, causing him to surrender.
(West Coast Avengers II#26 (fb) - BTS) - Gemini was released from custody and granted a new body with a female appearance by the Zodiac Key.
(West Coast Avengers II#26) - Gemini joined the Zodiac LMDs in an attack on the human Zodiac Cartel in Dallas, Texas. They managed to kill all of the Cartel members except for Cornelius Van Lunt, and assumed their roles in the criminal underworld.
Later, Gemini joined the LMDs in an attempt to rob businessmen at a cattle auction in Wichita, but they were interrupted by the West Coast Avengers. Gemini fought Mockingbird alongside Libra, but fled the battle with the other LMDs when Hawkeye accidentally slew Sagittarius. Afterwards, Gemini was reprimanded with the others by Scorpio, who was disappointed in them for having run.
(West Coast Avengers II#27) - Later, Gemini aided the LMDs in ambushing Hawkeye, but was taken out of the fight when Hawkeye's arrow cut the cord of Aquarius' gun, causing its electrical energy to stun her, Pisces and Aquarius. After Scorpio had replaced Hawkeye with his new Sagittarius LMD, Gemini attended a meeting with the LMDs as they bickered over how to defeat the Avengers.
(West Coast Avengers II#28) - Gemini joined the LMDs in robbing the Denver Mint, but they were interrupted by the Avengers, though Scorpio managed to teleport them to Death Valley along with their loot. When the Avengers caught up to them once more, Gemini clashed with Mockingbird again, only to be defeated. However, the Zodiac Key re-energized Gemini so that she could continue the battle. When Scorpio brought the Avengers and LMDs to the Ankh Dimension, hoping to have an advantage, the LMDs were all shut down instead, leaving them immobile in the Ankh Dimension.
