Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Genetic Bomb released a gas which would immediately contaminate Earth's atmosphere, causing everyone on the planet to hyper-evolve, becoming god-like beings.
History: (Avengers Annual#17 (fb) - BTS) - The Genetic Bomb was designed by the High Evolutionary to bring about a new dawn for mankind; when detonated from Krakatoa, the bomb would cause the entire population of Earth to hyper-evolve just as the High Evolutionary had done, and he would then be prepared to guide mankind into the future.
(West Coast Avengers Annual#3) - The High Evolutionary oversaw work on the bomb in the Savage Land, and sent a team of his Gatherers to Wakanda to obtain Vibranium needed in the bomb's construction. Although the Gatherers failed, the High Evolutionary sent his Sensors after them, and his agent Stack returned with a sample of Vibranium.
(West Coast Avengers Annual#3/2) - After learning that Stack had obtained the Vibranium, the High Evolutionary departed his Savage Land lab to avoid an encounter with Mockingbird, Tigra, Moon Knight and Giant-Man.
(Spectacular Spider-Man Annual#8) - The High Evolutionary met with Dr. Quint and informed him that the Genetic Bomb was almost ready for detonation.
(Avengers Annual#17) - The High Evolutionary transported the bomb aboard his underwater vessel to Krakatoa to activate it, but his ship was boarded by a rag-tag team of Avengers including the Hulk, Hercules, Jocasta, Yellowjacket, the Captain, the Falcon and the Beast. The High Evolutionary dispatched extra guards to protect the Sacred Genetic Chamber and keep the bomb in stasis until the Avengers had been dealt with, but the extra security made it easier for Yellowjacket to pinpoint the bomb's location. After the High Evolutionary was apparently slain battling Hercules, Yellowjacket linked Jocasta into the ship's computers and activated its matter/anti-matter drive, causing an explosion which vaporized the entire ship, including the bomb.
