(The Shroud#1)- Some of Lassiter's men participated in a deal with rival crimelord Garrick King, but the deal went south, and King attacked them, making off with the $2 million meant for the Cult of Kâli. This attracted the attention of police inspector Korngold, and of the superhuman Shroud. He hired the Scorpion to kill King, but the Scorpion was defeated and captured by the Shroud.
(The Shroud#2)- Lassiter inspected his office after two of his security guards had been involved in a fight with the Shroud. He contacted Yannroth, and Yannroth determined that he would bring in his best assassin, Kâli, to deal with the Shroud.
(The Shroud#3)- After the Scorpion escaped from the Shroud, he and Lassiter were confronted by Yannroth and Kâli, who mistakenly believed that the Shroud was working with Lassiter. When Lassiter revealed that the Shroud was his enemy, Yannroth offered him a chance to redeem himself. Lassiter set up a meeting with Garrick King, and had the Scorpion capture him. Although the Shroud attended the meeting as well, he was attacked by Kâli.
(The Shroud#4)- Lassiter and the Scorpion brought Garrick back to his home, and took his wife Amara as a hostage in an attempt to force him to turn over the money. King finally agreed, and they went to meet with Yannroth, but were interrupted by the Shroud. When the Shroud revealed that the money was counterfeit (having been given to King by the CIA), and Yannroth had his men shoot Lassiter dead for his seeming betrayal.
