Upon learning that T'Challa had returned to Wakanda with members of the Avengers, M'Baku had N'Gamo prepare a meal for them that was drugged. Later, N'Gamo helped the Man-Ape kidnap the Black Panther's lover Monica Lynne, and then aided the Man-Ape in battle against the Black Panther, ultimately capturing him and bringing him to the Grim Reaper.
(Black Panther III#33) - N'Gamo confronted the Man-Ape in the Crystal Forest as he was hunting Queen Divine Justice, a member of Wakanda's Dora Milaje. N'Gamo revealed to the Man-Ape that Queen Divine Justice was by right the queen of the Jabari, so the Man-Ape and his followers bowed before her as a gesture of their compliance.
