History: (Soviet Super Soldiers#1) - Yuri accompanied the Russian press to the scene of the Supreme Soviets' defeat of members of the Finnish underground, encouraging media coverage of the team.
Later, after the Supreme Soviets member Dmitri Bukharin had lost the armor of the Crimson Dynamo, Trifanov and Colonel-General Shelkov presented him with the armored identity of Airstrike, which Yuri had helped design with his marketing staff.
Having changed the name of their team to the "People's Protectorate," Yuri prepared a press conference for the team, bringing in even the 60 Minutes team from America. When he went to check on the team, he found them held up because Valeri Sovloyev refused to transform into the godly Perun. The Red Guardian finally convinced Valeri to become Perun, and Perun happily wondered who they would be "thrashing." Yuri was incensed at Perun's language, and threatened him that if he so much as smiled impolitely at anyone, he would have him barred from every pub, tavern and bar in Russia. Perun was amused at Yuri's threat, and agreed to behave. As they set out to meet the press, Sputnik reminded Trifanov that he would now go by the alias of "Vostok," after the first manned space launch, although Trifanov could not understand why he chose the name.
