First Appearance: Force Works#12/2 (War Machine: Brothers in Arms: Vicious Circle #1) (June, 1995)
Powers/Abilities: Troubleshooter wore an armoured battlesuit that enabled him to fly, and was armed with wrist-blasters and a shoulder-mounted rocket-launcher, equipped with armor-piercing rockets. Troubleshooter’s armor may have also enhanced his strength. The suit was dismissed by War Machine as a “K-Mart gadget suit”, being years behind Stark’s technology.
Troubleshooter was a mercenary more interested in spending the money he earned than in the job itself, and had no problems with killing enemy soldiers. Troubleshooter refused to work with any “nobody”, and was highly overconfident, to the point of a complete unawareness of how outclassed his armor was by War Machine.
History: (Force Works#12/2)- Troubleshooter, along with his partner Hazzerd, were brought into the nation of San Revilla to support the government forces in the civil war by The Advisor. They were to serve as freelance agents recommended by the U.S. Government, who had through The Advisor been supporting both sides in the war.
Troubleshooter and Hazzerd had been hired to locate and sanction the rebel parahuman unit known as The Shadows, and waited in the capital of San Revilla, Cuidad Revilla, for the arrival of the U.S. Agent, who had also been recruited for their mission. Before learning who their partner would be, Troubleshooter refused to work with “some two-bit nobody”.
(War Machine I#15/2)- Hazzerd, Troubleshooter and US Agent attacked the Preto Airstrip, and confronted Hawkeye and War Machine.
(Iron Man I#317/2)- As Hazzerd attacked Hawkeye, Troubleshooter opened fire on
the soldiers of The Shadows, wanting to finish the job, and spend his
paycheck. War Machine grabbed him and threw him to the ground, detaching
the helmet from his armor, and kept him down with a shot from his
shoulder-cannon. Troubleshooter eventually recovered, only for War Machine
to rip pieces out of his armor, disabling most of it’s abilities.
Troubleshooter refused an opportunity to surrender, and opened fire with his
remaining working weapon, a shoulder-launcher full of armor-piercing
warheads. War Machine easily dealt with the rockets, scrambling their
telemetry with an ECM sweep, causing them to fall at his feet. War Machine
flew away from the rockets before they detonated, and knocked Troubleshooter
unconscious with an uppercut to his exposed head.
