(As Cerebrax) Squadron Supreme I#6 (February, 1986); Powers/Abilities:
Cerebrac was programmed to serve the needs of Master Menace and his allies,
providing food and drinks and acting as Master Menace's personal secretary.
History:
(Squadron Supreme I#6) - Cerebrax tended to Master Menace's guests Mink, Pinball
and Remnant while they stayed at his laboratory, serving the trio drinks to keep
them comfortable. He alerted Master Menace when the three of them demanded that
he meet with them. (Squadron Supreme:
Death of a Universe) - As Master Menace came to realize that the universe was
doomed, Cerebrac arrived with his meal. Master Menace refused to take it, as he
intended to leave Earth-S. He told Cerebrac to look after his possessions, but
Cerebrac alerted Master Menace to the arrival of the Scarlet Centurion, who had
come to aid Earth-S against the threat of the
Nth Man. As the two plotted, Cerebrac brought them drinks, then
warned Master Menace of the approach of Hyperion.
Comments: Created by
Mark Gruenwald, Paul Ryan, Sam DeLa Rosa and Keith Williams. Cerebrac's
name is reminiscent of Brainiac, the computer foe of Superman who often teamed
with Lex Luthor. Since Master Menace is the Earth-S equivalent of Luthor,
perhaps Cerebrac is its Brainiac? Perhaps he was once a foe of Hyperion's, but
Master Menace simplified his program into something that would obey him?
It could be
that Cerebrac and Cerebrax are two different robots, given their different
configurations, but it might be that Gruenwald forgot the name he'd used.
