Powers/Abilities: Doris was a large powerful creature with sharp claws and multiple eyes. In darkness Doris fell into a state of dormancy and when in light became active again.

History: (Deadpool III#15) - Doris was dormant in a light-proof lab and being experimented upon by LL&L scientists when Deadpool opened the door. Though Deadpool immediately left, the light that got in was enough to awaken Doris and it broke out of the tube that contained it and into the corridor outside of the lab. Here it was spotted by Deadpool, Culloden and Dixon. Dixon called for a security team, but Doris easily killed them. They fled and Doris chased Deadpool and Culloden down the corridors until Deadpool finally turned to confront it while Culloden left.

Deadpool was ready to kill Doris when Overboss Dixon appeared on a monitor demanding that he leave her alive, saying that it was worth much more than the replaceable employees it was killing. Doris made its way to the Precog lab, where Monty was expecting it to kill him, but before that could happen, Deadpool shot its jaw off. Culloden arrived and informed Deadpool that Doris was activated by light and would become dormant in darkness. Deadpool turned off the light and killed Doris.

(Deadpool III#33) - Doris was among the multitude of people that Deadpool had killed conjured up by T-Ray to fight him.

I'm not sure what Doris is exactly. An alien life-form of some kind found by LL&L and experimented on for their needs? Something created from scratch by the developers at LL&L? Zoe called it "a photostim-biomangler class two. Made to be dormant under night cover so that in daylight it can do its thing." I'm guessing that basically breaks down to be a photostimulated biological mangler. I don't know if that means it's an existing creature altered to be dormant in darkness, or a creature made for the purpose of being so. Not that it really matters...

Dixon refers to Doris as "consciousless meat" and after killing it Deadpool says it was never really alive. Nonetheless Doris had enough of a soul to show up among those conjured by T-Ray.

According to the Encyclopaedia Deadpoolica, Doris was originally going to be called "The R&D Monster".
