NICHOLIS EBLIS
Real Name: Possibly Eblis
Identity/Class: Demon (Class Two)
Occupation: Demon
Group Membership: Demons of Hell;
Formerly B.L. Zeebub's Hell Incorporated talent agency
Affiliations: Satan (presumably
Marduk Kurios),
unnamed group of demons;
formerly Brimstone (Jason
Broderick, Wally Marcus, Dickie,
Stix)
Enemies: Man-Thing, Wally Marcus
Known Relatives: None
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: A branch of Hell
First Appearance:
(as aspect of Satan) Defenders I#111 (September, 1982);
(as agent of Satan) Marvel Fanfare I#9 (June, 1983)
Powers/Abilities: Eblis can summon demons, magically transform others, and serve as a vessel for Satan. He is presumably immune to aging and conventional disease and may have other magical powers. However, his powers were limited enough that he had to play by certain rules.
History:
(Marvel Fanfare I#9 (fb)) - Eblis appeared before the small-time band the Bronx
Bombers, convincing them to sign for his agency B.L. Zeebub's Hell Incorporated
by demonstrating some occult power to convince them of his ability to make them
famous. Eblis changed their sound, image, and name; as Brimstone they were soon
performing before thousands in Madison Square Gardens. All of this adulation
didn't come without a price, and the agency wanted their percentage, which meant
that twice a month a groupie or a roadie would mysteriously vanish and--while
the ever-smiling Eblis muttered an obscene, Satanic invocation--die screaming
beneath a sacrificial knife. As the body count grew, so did the band's platinum
albums, bank accounts, and egos. Wally Marcus was haunted by their actions, and
Stix was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, while Dickie and Jason were
becoming more like Eblis all the time.
(Defenders I#111 - BTS?) - Satan took the aspect of Eblis while manipulating Patsy Walker (Hellcat).
(Marvel Fanfare I#9 (fb)) - When the time came to renew Brimstone's contract, Eblis told them that his master now required their souls, although initially one soul would suffice. Jason and Dickie quickly volunteered Wally to be sacrificed; while Stix weakly spoke out against this, but Wally broke free and escaped. As Wally fled, he could see demonic agents pursuing him.
(Marvel Fanfare I#9) - Wally made his way to the Man-Thing's swamp outside Citrusville, Florida, where he decided to make a stand and just sat down and began playing guitar. Eblis led the other members of Brimstone in pursuit of Wally, explaining that there were rules to follow and that he couldn't just "whammy" Wally one. When Stix tried to back out, Eblis brought him back into line by threatening him with his agency's wrath. Eblis and the other band members followed the sound of Wally's music and confronted him, but they, in turn, were confronted by the Man-Thing, also drawn by the music. Eblis swatted the guitar out of Wally's hands, but the Man-Thing then slew the terrified Dickie and Jason. Wally stopped the Man-Thing from assaulting Stix, and when Eblis tried to offer a healing touch to the Man-Thing the bog beast burnt his face. Only taken aback momentarily, Eblis transformed the Man-Thing back into Ted Sallis and restored his memory, promising to make the change permanent if Sallis would pledge allegiance to Eblis' master. Sallis refused, striking Eblis down, and Eblis turned him back into the Man-Thing and unleashed a horde of demons against him. However, the fire within the Man-Thing remained and its purity allowed him to overcome the demons. "Mr. Zeebub" then appeared in a burst of flames and terminated Eblis' contract, pulling him back down to Hell.
Comments: Created by J.M. DeMatteis, Don Perlin, and A. Mushynsky.
My guess would be that Satan merely took on the aspect of his demonic agent in Defenders I#111. In addition, since that "Satan" seemed to be the one that was Hellstorm's father, I'd place it as Marduk Kurios. Or not.

Loyal fans of the Bronx Bombers, they followed them around New York city, sometimes dating Wally and Jason (and probably Stix and Dickie). They were less enamored of Brimstone, and it is not 100% certain that they weren't sacrificed to Eblis' master at some point.

Jason Broderick, Wally Marcus, Dickie, Stix
(Marvel Fanfare I#9 (fb)) - They initially started out as the Bronx Bombers, playing in dive bars in New York, usually followed by the Blatt twins.
(Marvel Fanfare I#9 (fb)) - Feel stuck in a rut, they jumped at Eblis' offer, even though they realized that he was an agent of the devil. Wally and Stix buried Dickie and Jason and then talked about receiving a second chance and channeling their guilt into something positive. Wally started right away, writing his own songs again.

Jason Broderick
He took to Eblis' instructions readily, and was more than happy to try to sacrifice Wally to Eblis' master. The Man-Thing threw him against a tree, breaking his cervical spine (neck) and killing him.

Eblis' demons
Summoned to subdue the Man-Thing, they were instead destroyed by him.

Drummer and best friend of Wally, he nearly had a nervous breakdown as Brimstone sank lower and lower, and he--at least verbally--tried to stop the others from sacrificing Wally. When he tried to back out, Eblis brought him back into line by threatening him with his agency's wrath. Wally stopped the Man-Thing from assaulting Stix, and the two later buried Dickie and Jason and then talked about receiving a second chance and channeling their guilt into something positive.

Walter "Wally" Michael Marcus
A former member of the Bronx Bombers and then Brimstone, he had a hard time accepting what they were doing. When Dickie and Jason attempted to make him their sacrifice, Wally fled to Florida where he met the Man-Thing, initially thinking him to be one of Eblis' agents. As the fight erupted, Wally stopped the Man-Thing from killing his best friend Stix, and after Eblis had been pulled down to Hell, he and Stix talked about receiving a second chance and channeling their guilt into something positive. Wally started right away, writing his own songs again.
He wrote over 200 songs with the Bombers, but Eblis cut him off with Brimstone, because his songs were too meaningful, and Eblis wanted simple, mindless depravity.
