It is unknown as to her exact location in the family tree of the Japanese gods, but it is known she is sister of the wind-goddess, Kamikazi, who created winds powerful enough to blow away enemies of the gods.
(Ares#5) - Kaminari joined the other gods of Japan in journeying to the aid of the gods of Olympus, who were sieging the lands of the demon Mikaboshi, and believed that their aid had been requested due to the manipulations of Inari. The combined forces of the gods ultimately prevailed over the demons.
(Chaos War#3) - Bishamon fought the Chaos King and his alien god army when the Chaos King attacked the Kami. He seemingly fell in battle.

Kaminari's sister, Kamikazi, later lent her name to "kamikaze," suicidal Japanese air pilots who gave their lives in war against enemies of Japan.
