Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Killer Satellite could project a powerful laser beam from space and accurately take out targets on Earth. It was operated from the Mandarin's castle in China.
History: (Tales of Suspense I#61/1) - To have his revenge upon his enemy Iron Man, the Mandarin made an attempt upon the life of his "employer," Tony Stark. He launched his Killer Satellite into space, confounding the world's governments who could not identify it. Once he was certain it was functioning properly, he had it fire a laser beam at Stark Industries, destroying the building. However, Tony Stark was wearing his Iron Man armor, and escaped the blast. The Mandarin wrongly believed Stark to be deceased, and Iron Man allowed him to think that.
