Powers/Abilities: The The Molitis Microbe, due to its size, possessed extraordinary strength, enough to bend the metal of a rifle. It could speak telepathically.

History: (Strange Tales I#90/4) - While on vacation on a boat with friends, scientist John Marshall continued his research in how to destroy a deadly strain of jungle microbe known as the Molitis Microbe. He hit upon the idea of enlarging the germ to work on it, and after he treated it with an enlarging serum, he was horrified to see the microbe grow in size until it was larger than a human. It took Marshall and the other vacationers hostage and demanded they take it to a deserted island, where it could find more germs to enlarge, creating an army to conquer the world. Marshall agreed to take the creature to such an island, knowing it was scheduled to be used as an atomic bomb site shortly. The Molitis Microbe disembarked from the ship, taking the enlarging serum with it, and told the humans to leave, as they would never reach others before its army was ready. Shortly after the humans got out of range, they watched as an atomic blast destroyed the island, and the Molitis Microbe on it.

A scientist seeking to cure a dreaded disease, Marshall tried to enlarge it to work on the germ. It grew too large and gained sentience, but Marshall took it to an island where an atomic bomb was set to be exploded. After the explosion killed the Microbe, Marshall realized that radiation was the answer to his search.
