Powers/Abilities: The Phantom Raider wielded a pistol.

History: (Kid Colt, Outlaw#124) - Slade was the foreman of Big Red Larsen, a rancher who was recruiting men to hunt wild mustangs. Among the men Larsen hired was the outlaw Kid Colt, and Slade thought he recognized him.

After a day of hunting, Slade set the men off to bed, saying he and one other man would stand guard. However, Slade assumed the identity of the Phantom Raider, and had his gang rustle the entire herd of mustangs. In the morning, Slade blamed Kid Colt for the rustling, but Colt ran away before they could capture him.

Later that day, a Mexican joined the crew, but was actually Colt in disguise, trying to find out who had rustled the mustangs. That night, the Phantom Raider struck again, and Colt followed him and his gang as they rode back to their hideout, a valley hidden behind a waterfall. When Colt attacked the gang, the Phantom Raider fled, fearing Colt's gunplay, but as he rode off on his horse, Kid Colt shot out his saddle from beneath him, and he fell in front of the wild mustangs he had rustled. The mustangs trampled him to death, and Colt unmasked his body to find he had been Slade all along.
