Powers/Abilities: Red was a Deltan-model LMD, the most advanced LMD ever designed, although she was not known to have been based upon a human. She could survive what would be fatal injuries to a human. She possessed a psychic bond to Lump. She sometimes carried a laser pistol and shuriken.

History: (Nick Fury Vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.#2) - Agent 1-16 was sent by the Deltite to retrieve Nick Fury after he had gone on the run from S.H.I.E.L.D., and located him in the sewers beneath Manhattan. When Fury did not recognize her as one of his agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., he realized that she was from Project: Delta. Fury killed her by stabbing her in her "heart," and then discovered that she an artificial person.

(Nick Fury Vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.#5) - After he was collected by the Encoders in the Himalayas, Fury met four versions of Agent 1-16, each one at a different age in its life cycle. They explained to Fury that the Deltite needed him in order to harvest his Infinity Formula, as the Deltite-models aged too rapidly. The four versions of Agent 1-16 joined the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. who ascended to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Satellite so that the Deltite could harvest Fury.

(Nick Fury Vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.#6) - The four versions of Agent 1-16 guarded the humans aboard the satellite, but Madame Hydra led an attack against them and killed three of them, only stunning the youngest version.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#2 (fb) - BTS) - As the satellite was destroyed due to the actions of the Clay Quartermain LMD, the remaining copy escaped the exploding station, and took up residence in S.H.I.E.L.D. Central, which had been abandoned due to the disbansion of S.H.I.E.L.D.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#1) - She spied upon Valentina De Fontaine, Al MacKenzie and Alexander Goodwin Pierce as they searched for Fury, needing his aid against the Death's Head Squadron. She saw Pierce crumple up a note he had received from Madame Hydra.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#2) - When Fury returned to S.H.I.E.L.D. Central with MacKenzie, Pierce, De Fontaine and Kate Neville to set after the Death's Head Squadron, she emerged from hiding to steal aboard their vessel. As they flew to Florida, she made psychic contact with the Gnobian child Lump, and experienced mental trauma. Al MacKenzie found her aboard the ship screaming in German, and they took her hostage. When they went to meet with the psychic Network Nina, Nina nicknamed her "Red," and performed a mind scan on Red to learn more about the Death's Head Squadron, but the Death's Head had already been dispatched to collect Red because she had contacted Lump. Fury ordered Neville to protect Red, but she wound up being captured alongside her by the Death's Head Squadron.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#3) - Red and Neville awoke at the Death's Head's base near Gruenstadt, and found themselves in a memory chamber recreation of the events on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Satellite, taken from Red's mind.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#4) - Red and Neville relived the destruction of the satellite, then were joined by MacKenzie, Nina and Pierce, who had entered the memory chamber. They journeyed to where Fury was located using Nina's powers, and found him in a re-enactment of events from 1944 when Baron Strucker had slaughtered the population of Gruenstadt.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#5) - When Lump entered the memory chamber scenario the others were in, Red assured the others that Lump wasn't evil, recognizing him as the entity she had made psychic contact with earlier. By touching him, Red taught him English. Red watched with the others as Strucker massacred the town of Gruenstadt in the memory chamber, and saw how Wilhelm Schmidt had saved Lump from being corrupted by Strucker like the other Gnobians who now comprised the Death's Head Squadron.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#6) - Red watched as Network Nina used Lump to cleanse the mind of the Gnobian mother, leading her to destroy herself and the other Gnobians, including the Death's Head Squadron, so that the horrors Strucker had created would be forever purged. Red escaped the destruction of the base, and departed with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#12) - Red watched Pierce work out at S.H.I.E.L.D. Central while Lump played jacks, and told Lump about Pierce's connection to Madame Hydra. Lump told her that their psychic link would grow, so that they would have no secrets from each other. Neville and N'Gami took care of Lump and Red, and N'Gami noted that since Deltans had such a short lifespan, Red should have been dead months ago.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#14) - Red and Lump waited with Fury and his friends while they waited for news on Kate Neville and Al MacKenzie, who had both been injured battling Madame Hydra. Happily, both agents were fine.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#25 - BTS) - Red was believed slain when S.H.I.E.L.D. Central was destroyed by a HYDRA agent.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#42 (fb) - BTS) - Red and Lump survived the destruction of S.H.I.E.L.D. Central, and lived together in the structure's sub-levels. Red matured during that time, becoming more adult in appearance. She and Lump had run-ins with several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who had been brainwashed by HYDRA, and discovered that the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who had been replaced by the Deltite were in suspended animation in the lowest levels of S.H.I.E.L.D. Central.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#42) - When Nick Fury returned to S.H.I.E.L.D. Central, he was reunited with Red and Lump, and they told them what they had discovered in the sub-levels.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#43) - Red and Lump brought Fury to the suspended animation tubes, but found that some of the agents had gone missing. They were then attacked by a team of brainwashed S.H.I.E.L.D. agents led by Clay Quartermain. Red and Lump helped Fury defeat the agents, then returned with him to the Helicarrier.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#47) - Lump and Red attended the funeral of Kate Neville after she was killed by Baron Strucker.

Comments: Created by Bob Harras, Paul Neary and Kim DeMulder.

Red and Lump appeared together in S.H.I.E.L.D. uniforms at the end of Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#47, which seems to indicate that they are official agents.

If Red was based upon a human originally, she must have been, like, a total valley girl, y'know?
