History:
(Captain America I#321 (fb) - BTS) - When Holly's husband left her, she was
forced to raise their son Hiram on her own. (Captain America
I#313) - Holly was doing the dishes at her house when Captain America arrived at
her door, asking if she had a computer. She replied that her son Hiram did, and
introduced him. Hiram confessed to having hacked Captain America's hotline, but
the Captain wound up making a deal with him to help organize hackers to gather
information for him.
(Captain America I#321) -
Captain America dropped by again to present Hiram with a jacket, and Holly
invited him to stay for dinner. He agreed, and Holly was surprised to see how
handsome he was when he took off his mask. After dinner, she had a private
conversation with him, trying not to make a fool of herself. She thanked the
Captain for being a positive role model for her son, and offered to let him stay
at their home whenever he might need to. They were interrupted when Hiram came
with information on an airline hijacking by ULTIMATUM. (Captain America I#332 - BTS) -
Holly answered the phone when Captain
America
called for Hiram, and put her son on. (Captain America I#443 (fb) -
BTS) - One day while Holly was driving to church, a man got into her car and put
a gun to her, then forced her to drive to a country road. She shot her in the
head. She was left in a coma, with little chance of reviving. Comments:
Created by Mark Gruenwald, Paul Neary and Al Williamson. I would have
hardly remembered Holly and her affections for Cap were it not for the pin-up
section of Captain America I#350, where she appears as one of the many women in
Cap's life. It makes me wonder if Gruenwald ever seriously considering pairing
them up. by Prime Eternal
