History: (Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Ulysses Sojourner visited New Orleans to hold a meeting for the nationwide undead unification. Some vampires, like Yves St. Monroe didn't like his plans. (Blade I#1-2 - BTS) - Sojourner orchestrated his scheme against Blade from behind the scenes. (Blade I#3) - One night at the Jaded Palate Sojourner met with the resident vampires. Xavier Rath served him a delicious blood soup. He liked it and after he was finished he began to talk to the vampires about recent happenings like the death of Aldes Yancey and Worm-Digger by the hands of Blade. He showed them the stakes that were found on the riverboat and told them that he was in New Orleans to destroy Blade. He had set up a plan to convince Blade that a teenage mother (Charisma Desiree) were threatened by a vampire, but in reality this vampire was a living being (Morbius). By Sojourner's vampire friends in the New Orleans Police Department a detective was assigned to watch Blade and make sure that somebody saw Blade's murder. Ulysses had done a profile on Blade and he was convinced that Blade would condemn himself for murdering an innocent and would probably commit suicide. The vampires liked Sojourner's plan. Yves St. Monroe arrived late and Sojourner confronted him because Yves had attacked Blade the night before and planned to do it again. Sojourner asked him to let it be because his plan assured that Blade would either be killed by Morbius or be sent to prison. (OHotMU Marvel Knights 2005) - Blade halted Sojourner's scheme to unite all vampires on the East Coast. Comments: Created by Don McGregor (writer), Brian Hagan (pencils) & Sandu Florea (inks). This series occurred after the one-shot Blade: Crescent City Blue as revealed in the intro page in issue #1. OHotMU Marvel Knights 2005 though placed it before Crescent City Blues. In Blade III#12 a prophecy was fulfilled that brought back all vampires that ever died. This most likely included Sojourner and his allies as well. We'll have to wait if they resurface. CLARIFICATIONS: Waylon Cypher has no known connection to: Xavier Rath has no known connection to: Yves St. Monroe has no known connection to: He was a detective of the New Orleans Police Department. His superior (supposedly one of the vampires in the department mentioned by Sojourner) assigned him to look-out for Blade. He did as he was told and observed Blade sitting with Dominique Levant opposite the Desiree's house. After Blade left alone he followed him in his car and stopped Blade. He showed him his police mark and let him know that he had an eye on him. Afterwards Cypher left in his car. --Blade I#3 (Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Xavier Rath was the owner of the Jaded Palate. Through Dominique Levant he did business with Newton Desiree. Desiree's family could eat at Rath's restaurant for a lower price because they weren't rich. (Blade I#2 (fb) ) - One night when the Desiree's ate at the Jaded Palate he watched the arrival of Morbius. He told Dominique that he was probably doing something to Charisma and that he was likely a vampire. (Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS) - When Dominique became worried after watching Charisma for some time, Rath gave her Blade's business card, which a customer had left behind, and told her that Blade could help her. (Blade I#3) - One night in the Jaded Palate at midnight Rath served blood in creative ways to all vampires attending the meeting with Ulysses Sojourner. He served a blood soup personally to Sojourner, who was pleased with it. One vampire drank from the bowl while Sojourner talked and Rath pulled his head out. Rath welcomed the late arriving Yves St. Monroe, who was confronted by Sojourner and Rath tried to calm them down. --Blade I#2 (Blade I#2 (fb), Blade I#3 (Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS) - When he was still alive Yves St. Monroe was told by the best photographers in New Orleans and Baton Rouge how gorgeous he was. (Blade I#3 (fb) - BTS) - As a vampire he missed it to look at himself in a mirror. (Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS) - When Ulysses Sojourner came to New Orleans with his plan to unite all vampires he was against it and his complicated plan to get rid of Blade. (Blade I#1) - Yves lay on the roof above Blade's apartment and watched him and Dominique Levant talking on Blade's balcony. (Blade I#2) - Yves changed locations to a tree and continued listening to Blade and Dominique. Suddenly Blade punctured Yves' ear with his sword. Yves left his hiding and ferociously attacked Blade. The fight went back and forth and Yves was able to hit Blade a few times. After another blow Blade stumbled over the balcony's railing and Yves was going to claw through his fingers until he fell to his death, but Domnique took a chair and hit Yves before he could reach Blade. Back on the balcony Blade took his sword and jumped at Yves who started another aerial attack. Blade took a swing with his sword injured Yves' face. The vampire retreated. (Blade I#3) - The next night Yves flew to the meeting with Ulysses Sojourner at the Jaded Palate. Sojourner confronted him about his attack on Blade. Yves wanted to kill Blade for scarring his face, but Sojourner was against it. --Blade I#1 (Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS, Blade I#3 (fb) - BTS, Blade I#2 (fb) - BTS, Blade I#1-3 images: (without ads) Other Appearances: Last updated: 12/27/13 Any Additions/Corrections? please let me know.
