Powers/Abilities: The Spider-Creature had an intimidating and nightmarish appearance. It stood well over 15' high, with a body that was about 20' long, and had eight thick black legs that were slightly fuzzy. It oozed toxic acid from its mandibles, which were huge; this acid could kill normal humans, and would generate severe pain in more resilient races like Acroyears. It had a huge 2' red stinger on a scorpion-like tail that could arc either above or below its thick body. Its two red dome-like eyes were over 2' in diameter, although they seemed to offer little in the way of vision, as it hunted by smell. Its mind would've been feeble at best, but this was countered by superhuman durability. It did not seem to move very fast and seemed slow with its stinger, although it did seem to be agile enough to knock Bug over.
History:
(Micronauts I#49 (fb) - BTS) - Taught by his former master, Baron Karza, DeGrayde created a monstrous mutate in the form of a giant spider-like creature, using at least one man in the process, possibly several.
(Micronauts I#49) - As part of the celebrations of the marriage of Force Commander (Argon) to Belladonna (in Slug's body), bloody spectator sports had been organized. Acroyear, armed with his energy sword but missing his armor, was brought into the giant arena with Bug, who was also armed with his rocket-lance, as well as Prince Pharoid, who had been given his star scepter. As they looked around the crowded arena, they were shocked to see the nightmarish and massive Spider-Creature lurching toward them.
Force Commander voiced his approval upon seeing the monstrosity and DeGrayde acknowledged the guidance of Baron Karza in his mutating and recreating of victims of the Body Banks.
Meanwhile, the Spider-Creature attacked Acroyear, Bug and Prince Pharoid. Bug's rocket-lance was ineffectual, as was Pharoid's star scepter. The Spider-Creature oozed acid that burnt Acroyear's skin, but he then smashed his sword at one of the beast's huge red eyes. Yet this was to no effect, as it hunted by smell. The three retreated away from the monster, but were rallied by seeing Marionette advancing the rebellion in the crowd. Acroyear then used his prodigious strength to grab the Spider-Creature's mandibles and cracked them asunder. This severely wounded the monstrosity and it curled up to die, while Acroyear, Bug and Pharoid met up with Marionette and Huntarr.
