History:
(Deadline#1) - JJJ screamed at Swanson because the story about the missing Michael Hart was late. Jameson threatened to give the story to somebody else. Some time later, Kat took the file on Michael Hart, and Swanson immediately went to Robertson because Hart was his story. Together with Robertson he went to Farrell, and she had to give Swanson the file. Swanson showed his class by bringing up Kat's humiliating run-in with the Human Torch and Kat tossed the file to him. The papers flew and she showed her anger (read above).
(Deadline#4 (fb) - BTS) - Afraid that Kat would steal his job he took the matter into his own hands. Swanson stole the key to Kat's apartment from Betty Brant's table (Kat gave it to her just in case of an emergency), went to her apartment and kidnapped Kat's goldfish.
(Deadline#2) - The next day in the office Swanson continued to mock Kat with her humiliating experience with the Human Torch. Kat poured her coffee over his Italian suit which angered him.
(Deadline#3 - BTS) - Swanson returned to Kat's apartment and left behind a gift box with the dead goldfish and an article on Judge Hart's murder in it.
(Deadline#4) - Another day in the office and Swanson was talking on the phone to a "source" (whoever it was, he assured the person that he wouldn't publish his/her name). Kat arrived with the police, took away his phone and told him that her neighbor Mrs. Yodinski just identified Swanson at the 15th Precinct as the guy who let himself into Kat's apartment the night before. Further proofs were the fingerprints found by Jimmy Lee on the key Betty got from Kat. Swanson was arrested and Robertson told him that his career at the Bugle was history because he betrayed the Bugle trust.
