Powers/Abilities: The Thing had superhuman strength and durability due to his rock-like hide, as well as the ability to manipulate and control fire.

head shotHistory:  (Marvel Universe Millennial Visions 2001 - "The Thing: Vurtuvurse TM" (fb) - BTS) - Before they died, Reed Richards and Sue Storm downloaded their identities onto a disc and uploaded them into the virtual reality world known as the Vurtuvurse. They also attempted to upload Johnny Storm into the Vurtuvurse, but his genetic makeup caused the fiery destruction of half of the virtual world. After Johnny's destruction of the Vurtuvurse, the computerized Reed and Sue uploaded the Thing into the Vurtuvurse, where they gave him Johnny's old flame abilities.

 (Marvel Universe Millennial Visions 2001 - "The Thing: Vurtuvurse TM") - On August 12, 2064, the Thing thought to himself about his life inside the Vurtuvurse and how his body had failed him seventeen years prior, but his rock-like hide kept him alive despite the failings.
