Powers/Abilities: Tommy had no superhuman powers and was actually quite weak, given that he was hospitalized.

History:  (Fantastic Four I#6 - BTS (fb)) - Despite being hospitalized, Tommy somehow heard of the heroism of the Fantastic Four and decided to write them a fan letter.

 (Fantastic Four I#6) - While reading through their stack of fan mail, Mister Fantastic came across Tommy's letter. Realizing that Tommy was hospitalized just across the street from the Baxter Building in Harmon General Hospital, Mister Fantastic decided to just stretch across the street and have a quick talk with his fan. Much to the happiness of Tommy, Mister Fantastic arrived at Tommy's window and asked for a friendly chat. During their chat, Mister Fantastic explained to Tommy how his costume was interwoven with unstable molecules, allowing it to stretch when his body stretches.
