Powers/Abilities: The Vaengr appeared in Fury's dreams as a non-humanoid creature comprised of tendrils. While posing as a peaceful alien, it used a headband to assume the form of a golden-skinned humanoid, and used advanced extradimensional technology, including a spacecraft and the "Prims of Miracles," which was actually a device which could destroy the world. Vaengr could also fire energy blasts from its hands.
History: (Strange Tales I#168/2) - Vaengr set down its spacecraft in the middle of a crowded New York street, and emerged from its ship in a peaceful manner, welcoming the people of Earth. It claimed that it was from an "ultra-universe" unknown to the Earth, and that its elders had sent it to bring humankind the means to eradicate hatred, crime, war and violence forever. It presented the Prism of Miracles to the crowds, claiming that it could solve all of their problems.
Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. confronted Vaengr, and told him to get off the street before causing a panic. He entered Vaengr's craft with fellow agents "Dum-Dum" Dugan and Valentina De Fontaine, and Fury noticed immediately that the ship wasn't configured for a humanoid body. Using her image scanner, Valentina saw Vaengr's true form, and he responded by incinerating Dugan and Valentina with a blast of energy.
Fury threw a mold coccoon pellet at Vaengr that quickly covered his body in a fast-hardening substance, and he removed Vaengr's headband, causing it to revert to its true form. Vaengr then revealed that the Prism of Miracles was a world-killing machine, with the power to end all life everywhere, and that greedy humans had already turned it on. The Earth was destroyed.
Then, Nick Fury woke up, only to hear from Dugan that a UFO had been sighted...

Maybe Vaengr only existed in Fury's dream, but there's no reason why a creature like Nightmare couldn't make use of him.
